Where did all the Overland Trash Mobs go?

I wasn't really sure if i was seeing (or not seeing) things...

when i initially traveled through vvardenfell i had noticed a decrease in overland trash mobs...at the time i wasn't really sure - there were a lot of people on the map, so, i didn't know if they were just being killed really quick...now that i've had a chance to go through some of the other overland zone maps - i'm pretty sure the number of trash mob encounters in overland have been reduced substantially...

i checked the patch notes - but, didn't notice any comments reference the decrease in overland creature encounters...

i remember reading a thread a while back where the sentiment was expressed that many people were tired of having to slog there way through each zones with bunches of aggro'd enemies all the time...

it made sense when i read it - it's just taking me a little while to get used to all the "open" space now...

hopefully i'm not just losing it and in fact the trash mobs have been decreased through the overland zones...

i don't believe the number of resource nodes have been changed at all - so, farming is a heck of a lot easier now it seems...

just wondering what other folks think of the change...

I've been in a few of the overland areas recently, and it seems like the same amount of mobs around the quest hubs. Are there fewer mobs in between quest hubs? I don't really know because I normally just run through those. But I know a few popular overland grind spots have not been changed.

Also, Morrowind has significantly lower overland mobs than all other zones. It's very noticeable.

But as with everything else ZOS does in this game, it's a tale of "extremes".

People complain about "too many trash mobs" and "fighting every four steps"; so ZOS overcompensates and we get Vvardenfell, where you can go a country mile before seeing something to kill.

For the places that are barren, people complain about "nothing to kill" and "the Zone seems so empty"; so ZOS overloads the area, and you can't go four steps without agro'ing a whole herd of ~insert trash mob here~.

There's no middle ground and no real planning with ZOS. It's either one extreme or the other...

okay, granted I'm not always exactly "sober" while playing - but, I spend a lot of time in and around rawl'kha...

reaper's march used to feel like there were groups of wasps every few feet/meters that you went...

something has changed (hmmmm, maybe next time I play I'll try abstaining from any "recreational" type endeavors prior to logging on)...
