Because horses are the worst mounts - they clipclop around loudly and trip over every pebble.1 -

Fair enough, im just wandering what stories people would come up with for the stranger mounts, suppose i'm just being a bit boring.
Once upon a time my character wanted to get around quicker and their feet were hurting from sprinting everywhere, so they brought a horse.

Agree! Like tessellated guars in Black Marsh instead of orange ones from Morrowind.

For me personally I go for the weird stuff because the horse models are so abysmally designed. The ludicrous proportions--thick joints, oversized hooves and short face--make it look like it belongs in WoW instead of ESO. I realize they were going for the look of a heavier breed, but there is nowhere near as much anatomical knowledge put into them as the wolf or camel or senche. So I make a point to have all my characters ride something else. And if something non-horsey comes up that suits a character better than what they ride now, I buys it.
As for an alit mount, cool as that would be I think it'd be a little too similar to the guar mounts we already have for my tastes. I'd be so down for a wamasu mount though, or even a haj mota
