How does this make sense?

Why doesn't gear get scaled down when giving gear to a lower level player in a dungeon? I was looking for Knightmare stuff from the early dungeons (level 16 now) and someone got a helm, I was like sweet, got the helm, but it requires level 36. Can I trade this in for a lower level usable model or something somewhere or what?

Just keep playing a couple more hours and you will be level 36. Then a couple more hours and it will be useless again.

Not everyone can play 24 hours straight, thanks. Took me two days to get to where I am and I only just found the dungeon queue so... I guess I'll be 40 in no time lol.

But still, this is a large oversight IMO. And a weird one at that.

You can just play in Coldharbor until level 50 then everything is usable by all your characters always.

Not really an oversight, working as intended. Back in the good old days, the dungeon was scaled to the group leaders level, so everyone would get that level gear, but not any more.

As you've found, it can cause an issue if someone is farming for gear, because they need to make sure everyone else in the group is their level or lower and willing to trade. You'd be better off finding someone willing to make you set gear while leveling up, relying on drops can be a pain in the proverbial.
