Dyes changing depending on how much you upgrade armour

So I bought the ashlander chest motif yesterday after seeing the ashlanders wearing it thinking it was awesome looking with that scarf. I paid probably way too much for it and that's my problem. What bothered me was that there wasn't a single red dye that didn't make the scarf of it look as shiny as silk which might just be me but that looks weird when you live in an ash storm filled area.

I spend the good part of the night and today getting the regicide red dye from cyrodiil after seeing a friend use it on the chest and it looked good. I finally got it. I use it, everything looks sweet. I get it with a bit of fiddling to match the with the harlequin medium hood. Everything looks amazing. I go to craft the ashlander chest in the set I use. I upgrade it and ... the thing turns shiny again.

Suddenly all red dyes make the scarf shiny. Can't get away from it. I feel disappointed and angry to say the least. I wasted my upgrade materials and rubedo leather making it cp160 just for it to turn so shiny I can't match it with anything.

I don't know what to do right now, who decided this was a good idea? I have never noticed such a drastic change on dyed armour from the moment it's crafted till upgrading it to legendary since before the dye system was introduced.

I don't expect this to ever get changed as much as I wish it would.

I have given up trying to make armor look like I want it to. This does not mean I don't dye it or select a motif that appeals to me, I just don't try to make it the colors I think I want in advance. In particular, the Ruby Mats (all of them) don't take dyes as well as lower tier mats do. Ironically, Reds are the worst to get right on Ruby. Couple this with how Dyes never look the same from one motif to the next, nor one material to the next. I just gave up a long time ago trying to make sense of it.

Don't get me wrong, everything I wear, Armor, Costumes, Clothing etc it all dyed. Every piece of it.

Now, I just hit the randomize button a few times, tweak an item or two and move on. I generally end up with better looking armor than anything I would intentionally set out to do. Saves me a ton of time over picking out each dye and seeing what it looks like on an armor set.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

This just ruined my mood today. That's not what I play the game for.
