I may be alone, but I certainly miss the difficulty of Craglorn. I understand the changes were to make ESO more inclusive, but I think sprinkling some harder zones in are healthy for the overall PvE environment. If I recall correctly, Age of Conan had an option to enter a zone on normal mode or hard mode...that'd be a cool feature here as well.

    Not going to happen. Craglorn was a deadland before the solo "nerf". This new zone will be the same. Forced grouping just doesn't work for ESO.

    The Craglorn-style of devles and mini-activities would be a fantastic addition to any zone. Make sure there is no forced grouping requirements, but keep the difficulty very high. It would be great.

    I would like it so you don't have to technically have a group but the difficulty is hard enough that you are not going to complete anything without a group.

    Also none of that toning it down so everyone can witness the story there, you want to get the story then git gud. Also some sellable motifs to reward you for your time.

    Hard content with great aesthetics and a good story line? Oh yes please. Craglorn wasn't a success because it was half finished and rushed. Like IC.

    sorry I had to vote for 'nerf sorcs' its been a whole day or two since I saw the last 'nerf sorc' thread. lol

    but yes I would love to see this too. I would even go as far as to make places that are recommended for groups of 10+....like a real World Boss (or at least what I feel a World Boss should be like). Most World Bosses now can be solo'd and do not feel very "Bossy"

    Craglorn was and still mainly is a deadland because it had/has 0 incentive. Gear sucked, XP was godmode awful (especially after they nerfed it along with some grinding), rewards were none basically. Now there're motifs at least.

    Another issue that took them unforgiveably long to fix was quest instancing, you couldn't do an instance together unless you were on the very same stage of very same quest. This godmode awful design should've been fixed in week 1, not a year later.

    I've had some of the most fun in ESO in pre nerfed Craglorn and I've come to appreciate it even more now that all the challenge is gone from open world and most dungeons. I remember the days of having to watch out for that "taking aim!", if you didn't interrupt, you were dead. Taught you how to bash real fast, 90% of dungeon pugs could really use that nowadays. Remember the wasps too? They taught you to block. Don't block wasps' charge? Dead. Another great mechanic I swear most ESO players are not aware of these days.

    It needed quick fixes and incentive. Instead it got more nerfs which killed what could've been a great and unique zone.

    I really wish we could have a zone like that. Just one actually challenging zone. I know we never will however because community evidently reacts poorly to that.

    Would love to see the Deadlands as a full blown zone, it wouldn't be too difficult I don't think seeing as most of the assets already exist from City of Ash 2 and the Deadlands quests in Firsthold Auridon. It could even be fitted into the story and wider lore since at the end of Orsinium the prophet warned of the forces of oblivion planning something, that something could be Dagon testing out his gates for the future oblivion crisis of TES IV...

    Yes definitely. But no forcing of large groups but encouraging smaller ones, maybe 2 or 3 players for activities. And the setting: Oblivion, that woulde be a very good one. A mixture of Coldharbour and Craglorn.
    Maybe it's just because I loved that dark ambience... :smile:
