Vvardenfell, locked myself out of a quest line by walking out of a tent mid convo *SPOILERS*

I so can not remember the name of the area or the NPCs I was talking too off hand but yall should know what I'm talking about. The area with the Ashlander dailys.

Up in the northwest with the Ashlander camp there. When you have to go into the hut with the sister to talk to her brother (the leader of the tribe who ends up going bad and his sister, those two) they were engaged in their conversation when I accidentally left the tent mid convo. Now I can not enter the tent again and none of them appear outside of the tent. You're suppose to talk to one of em after the convo ends (done it one other time with my main) but since I walked out in mid convo and can not re enter the tent I can not talk to em therefor I can not advance that quest line.

Now, someone tell me I'm right or not. I could have sworn I thought you had to talk to one of em when their convo was finished. I panicked when I walked out of the tent and was wondering wtf to do so if something prompted me automatically to go somewhere else then I missed it. From what I could tell in my panicked state, I kinda borked myself. Can anyone confirm what I'm vaguely remembering about needing to talk to one of em in the tent after their convo? Do I need a GM to reset that quest line?

I can say that a similar thing happened to me in Ancestral Adversity quest. The quest marker showed that I needed to go through a door as the update; I left that door and was unable to re-enter. I dropped the quest, did it over again. This time I waited for the NPC to see if he would speak...sure enough...he did. I waited until he finished his talk. Then went through the door. At that point everything worked!!

Best advice - drop the quest - pick it back up - and wait...don't leave until everyone has finished talking. You can also turn on NPC chat in your chat options..just as an extra precaution.

You picked this up somewhere along the line, either as a quest option at the end of another quest, or from a quest giver in the local vicinity.

If it's the former, you should be able to locate the associated quest in your journal, abandon it, and things should go back to pre-quest status (NPC's intact, etc.)

Along with this, or if it was the latter, you may have to revisit the area you originally picked up said quest.

You may have to start the entire quest line over, but generally that's not a vast undertaking.
