Dear Zenimax,
Thank you very much for creating ESO. It is definitely the single largest video game I ever played. It has been an experience I will not forget, and the standard to follow for any future massive games I shall play. Nothing comes close.
It took me 2.5 years, but I completed all missions, all DLC, all dungeons, all group dungeons, all dolmans, all world bosses; bought and decorated a house and 7 apartments; fought in Cyro, winning a lot of castles, getting my ass handed to me almost as frequently.
Completed all main story lines, Craglorn’s story, Wrothgard, mages, fighters guilds, and got Vet level (ok, Level 50), on all 7 characters (main and 6 alts)
I played ESO until the game broke. Really, after the last update I patiently worked every night for a week and most of Saturday to get the game to run again, but it seems my ESO is forever broken. Reflecting back on this loss, I also noticed that I had run out of things to do. Had it worked, I would have played a few hours and log out, as I would have just replayed missions or dailys I have done over and over again.
My time in Tamriel, is done for now.
It will be a very very VERY long time until another game comes across that even comes close to the experience I had in ESO.
To me, even thought I played solo like 99% of the game, the best experience was when I was having trouble and some anon would be passing by, they would stop, and help me out just because. It got even better when I could see an anon in trouble, and I’d stop by and help them out as I was out looking for Nirnroots for dailyes.
I have now deleted the game. It is done. Here is looking forward to a new ESO type game at some point in the future. If I could suggest something, if it had more Skyrim (as in not just half of Skyrim but all the way out to Markarth), I would buy ESO all over again.
On behalf of my eponymous Erin Cossette and her 6 siblings, I thank you for 2.5 years of video game fun that will never be forgotten.
With Love, Erin
