Stamblades mainly thrive on cloak working like a charm this patch again - alongside the passive buffs to proccsets (imo).
Magblades benefit from overall reduced dmg (the game is less bursty) and buffs to their passive healing with siphoning attacks.
It was one of those patches where every NB was complaining before it went live and on live suddenly everyone plays their nightblades

you know what. i actually have a AMA type of request. rather then a question. In your upcoming videos.
1.
In Cyrodill when ever there is a 1v1 and sometimes 1v2 i find myself to be victorious. rarely i find myself able to 1vX even against total noobs.
I would love to see some videos from you explaining the principals of 1vX for magblades.
2.
Whenever i am in Cyrodill and i think i finally got my build down. i always run into that 1 player. The player that takes everything i learned from being a magblade and makes me question if i am doing anything right.
For example today morning i run in to a stamblade. whatever i did i could not burst him down. i even used poisons. imovable /detect pots. he had enough recovery to sustain the fight and constantly dodge my attacks. on top of that he had high amount of dmg.
Now this is the part where i would L2P. however when i swapped my build i definitely felt that i had to choose between dps vs regen.
This being said.. i would love to see more vidoes about nightblade mechanics ...

Lol this hit me right in the feels. I hate fighting stamblades more than any class. The well built ones are a monster for an all ranged magblade to kill

He is right mark is the stamblade killer
Mostly mark means an unlimited dodge roll stamblades or running stamblade without any means to catch up
Today i was in cyrodill wearing 7 pieces HA all, 5 impenetrable and 2 (belt/boots) infused. I used Tava favor and heavy krag's hope. And i was still one shot because 5 attacks happened in 1 second (including proctardsets)
I really was looking forward to this patch but I find PvP worse then it was pre-Vvardelfell.
At least i am not enjoying PvP lately.

Respect where its due. Great Job Kena! I've been following your builds for just a little bit, the CA/Spinners build you had up. I have tailored my build around yours. I appreciate you being such an awesome advocate for the nightblade. I've went full LA build, running Spinners/Julianos and its mediocre in such a way that I can't 1vX, and my dueling is somewhat ok.
Does shadowy disguise allow for crit heals? Are you using oblivion damage glyphs? Is this full 7LA?
Good stuff as always. A few gameplay questions for you:Also, any plans to make a gameplay video in BGs? Would love to see that.
- I see you're not using impale in any of the clips. Just no room on your bar? Or has the meta switched to less tankier targets so that impale isn't needed in your kill combo anymore? As a side note, I was thinking it would be very useful for team deathmatch BGs to make sure you and your team get the killing blows on low health targets.
- Do you think cloak is worth running in open world or BGs now? Or does it still take a back seat to other skills and for the most part still only worth slotting in sewers/IC?
- Do you think just having entropy and path procs skoria enough to make it worthwhile? What about just path alone in cases where sap is used over entropy? Talking no CP here as that is what I've been focusing on. Just seems like I rarely get skoria to proc on ranged targets in particular.
- Finally, and this is a broad question, but thoughts on merciless and siphoning attacks/leeching strike changes?

Any stam class can roll and run away from a mageblade pretty easily. A stamblade denied his cloak is basically a stam dk with shade. Sorcs will streak, and templars will purge your snares.
I'm sorry you are discouraged. How have you adapted your build to the patch so far? If you want to be tankier to ganks, try running Wizard's Riposte. 15% is massive damage mitigation on everyone attacking you, and it debuffs the damage of the critting attack which procs it, perfect for defending against gankers.
I suspect cp issues too perhaps?

Hey thanks! I use 5 light 2 heavy because heavy reinforced is all I have for a Valkyn shoulder. lol I would still use the second heavy because I value its passives more than medium armor passives. Argonian likes heavy armor passives and resistances.
Julianos Spinner will struggle to sustain this patch. Did you switch jewelry glyphs out? What are your exact issues in fights? Magicka sustain, stam, lethality, incoming damage, timing combos, etc etc?
Shadowy Disguise makes all heals crit while cloaked, yes. It used to make dots crit too..I once killed a tank stam dk with the old Toxic Defiance, which was overperforming, with entropy > lethal arrow > poison injection > cloak away. I didn't attack from stealth, he was half health after my poison injection struck him, but repeated 9k dot ticks were too much to heal through. That was a long time ago -- I think before ZOS made dots snapshot your stats on cast. I actually have no idea if dots currently crit while cloaked... Hmmmm. I shall test tonight. Lol
No oblivion glyphs on my mageblade right now. Don't worry though. My stam build uses all the procs. I was out running around with that last night. I tested the deeps on a buddy of mine, and it took 4 light attacks to kill him. Balanced.

Tell me your blue CP layout and item sets. Pay attention to the marginal rates of change (the percentage gained from the next additional point) betweem Master-at-Arms, Ele Expert, and Elfborn.
Your maximum burst will be the layout where the marginal increase of each of those three stars equal each other, and rng blesses you with all crits.
Your most consistent burst will be where the rate of change of MaA = that of EE = (that of Elfborn * your crit chance).
Every percentage based star rounds down to the nearest integer, sot trim extra points down and place them into Spell Erosion. The first several points of flat value stars were buffed significantly this patch, whereas those of percentage stars were actually decreased in value despite frontloading into the first 50 points.
As for your own survivability, @gibous might chime in with his opinion on Bastion for this patch. TLDR zero points because raw mitigation stars op.
I think I saw you say you're using Bloodthorn plus another sustain set somewhere? Correct me if I'm wrong. Are your spell damage and max magicka at decent numbers for cp to amplify?

Mathematically DMG is lower than last patch (unless your enemy specced CP wrong) alongside more need for sustain.
The worst case we could see in homestead was 93.75% of pre cp tooltip dmg.
The worst case we could see now is 84% of pre cp tooltip dmg.
This patch allows for flatout 9.75% more absolute dmg reduction by CP compared to last patch (for 200 into dd increase vs 200 into dd defense). It only gets worse when figuring in that last patch people had to divide their mitigation CP between two stars physical/magica which is no longer the case.
In practice you will most likely not see these absolute extreme scenarios but in any case where you see your dmg go up your enemy specced their CP wrong - because as you said yourself: The new dmg reduction CP are op.
I´m sitting at 3600 spelldmg 41k magica when bursting (which is obviously lower than 39k mag 4.6k spelldmg last patch).
I personally just really don´t enjoy sustained dps metas where a player has to make multiple mistakes to die (when he´s aware of being attacked).
@NightbladeMechanics:
The Merciless change makes combos feel sluggish. I really feel it. I hate it. I have been enjoying firing two or three procs off, but I find that in order to get multiple, I have to rush them, inhibiting my ability to deliberately combo with them. Rusing wills may make for a nice dps parse, but it doesn't kill players. So in general I'm still holding each proc for a good opportunity to combo and refreshing after. We'll see how I adjut chained procs into my play style as I become more accustomed to it.
