ESO's community is great in hating on the game and on the devs too ,most of the posts I read on the forums since morrowind dropped are unfortunately negative, they are either complaining at how overpriced the chapter is or at how battlegrounds suck or how the warden is OP/Weak.This is truly ruining the game for me...

Yep - I don't even know why I spend as much time here as I do... I must like the punishment of it.

Truly the game is great - no game is perfect, but all the complaining has never made things better in games before... just look at Mass Effect Andromeda - it's basically sitting dead in the water now because people *** their pants over animations.

Complaining doesn't always improve the product.

It reminds me of the saying, "People stand in the fire and complain that it's hot." If so many people are unhappy, then there's the door!! But coming to the forums and ranting and raving, whining and complaining, telling ZOS how they should be designing their game, etc... is only making the devs tune them out, not actually wanting to address the occasional valid complaints.

You don't have to read every thread . Just because people complain about the game does not mean it is a personal thing to upset you even if it feels that way sometimes . There will always be complaining and criticism . There are positive discussions as well . Lean towards the positive ones if the criticism feels personal to somethings you love . I love this game too and enjoy hearing good things . I also give criticism when I do not like something but attempt to make it constructive . That is not always easy though . Just remember you are not being judged for enjoying the good parts of the game . If yoe feel you are , remove yourself from the conversation or tell the person , which ever is easier . A lot that happens in forums is misunderstandings as we cannot see emotions behind typed words .

I would advise not visiting the forum but you already said you're going to do that.

Are you that influenced by other peoples opinion, that it's "truly ruining the game for me" ? That's a bad mindset to have.

It depends what the OP means by complaining. If they mean people saying "this is a bad game" or "do not buy" ect, then yeah, be constructive instead. I'd agree with that 100%

But if they mean anyone not piling praise on any and every change, regardless of quality. Or people suggesting ideas that could make the game better. Then I'd disagree 100%

Player feedback and ideas are vital, player hate is harmful.

people need a place like these forums to express thier opinions, and desires, beliefs ect ect.
this should be allowed to happen.
recently is allot of negative opinions and i think well deserved. but it is something that should not be shunned. instead welcomed and permitted.

I've had smth similar last year where I just couldn't handle the negativity in this game and on these forums at all, so I took a long break from the... salty... parts

But I would suggest to keep tabs on the forums regardless, it's still a great source of information and there are several useful threads about

No matter what tho: don't let it get to you

The forums get a bit riled every major update. Imperial City came out and the game was proclaimed Ruined Forever. Thieves Guild came out later and the game was Ruined Forever. One Tamriel happened and the game burned down, fell over, and then sank into the swamp and was Ruined Forever.

But, despite all that, a lot of people stick around. I think a lot of it comes down to people genuinely liking ESO a lot, but feeling that one thing wrecks their experience completely. Which can make it hard to enjoy the game for the rest of its merits.

In the case of Morrowind, this time there are many more factors to the negative reception. But that doesn't change the fact that this sort of thing gets draining. Nobody is really immune from feeling bugged by vast quantities of negativity. Having a lot to read through can be draining, and it's understandable to need a break.

There are still nicer topics to read if you can dig them up. But if you need to walk away, I hope it helps.

It's called a forum for a reason. The forums is a great way to express your opinions negative/positive or give ideas.

There's been a lot of negative posts lately only because ZOS could gives 0 *** about their community or where this game is heading.

No... no I didn't. Maybe a slight misused of language but they say basically the same thing. Sorry I am not the best at English always when I speak mostly French to start. If you want to bash the devs - then by all means harp away, I've watched it kill games before. The last statement could also apply to more products than just games - really I have not ever seen a case where bashing developers makes them do better at the game. It's not like in real life where if you get a wrong order and something and complain, calls names - demand lower prices, they fix it - and actually even in real life, if you snap on somebody you might still not get a better result.

(English issue like that are why I often edit my posts like 20 times before being satisfied).

A few alternative suggestions to just leaving, @KimoBitz

    1) Counter hate with a positive thread discussing things that you like.

    2) Don't read and ignore negative threads.

    3) Try to understand why your experience with the game is so heavily impacted by the forum so much that it is "ruining the game for [you]," and reassess your feelings from there.

Number one rule of a game is never read the forums if you're enjoying yourself. I like to get a feel of the community when I start a new game (hello SWTOR, I'm coming to you next). Negativity is the rule because why say anything if you're too busy having a good time. I probably will never hate the game. Its nothing ground breaking but I love the various stories in it. But what's behind it... crown store, screwing ESO+, out of touch devs, etc. Those deserve all of the hate I can muster because its such an easy fix. Simply stop with the overpriced store (especially crates), appreciate your subscribers, and know your game. If those are too much then its time for them to move on in another career because its simple... respect your customers. I don't care how annoying or demanding they are, they are furnishing your livelihood. I've worked with the public. The public can be outrageous to the point you think they're doing it on purpose. Whoever said the customer is always right you want to knock in the head. But as long as they walk out happy with a purchase, you've done your job. Made some money and hopefully a steady customer so you keep making money. That's why we always let them be right since them being right (and hat's just to a certain extent) is just momentary bit of swallowing your pride so they can puff themselves up.

But just never read forums if you can't accept different opinions about what you enjoy. Just enjoy it anyway.

I don't constantly praise the game. So there we go. Not that I expect you to waste time on it - but I've had several complaints in the past, but I voice them without coming off like a total mong and trying to insult ZOS. There's a tasteful way to bring up issues and discuss them. For the most part though, I usually try to help people with problem when I can - but yeah, like anybody I get roped into childish arguments.

Starting threads telling people not to by expansions, insulting employees, accusing them of theft or extortion, conspiracies about how support hates players etc. Is never going to get you what you want. Most of the threads here are just that - passive aggressive - and sometimes full on aggresive attempts to somehow coerce ZOS into obeying the complainers; often employing cute threats and absurd statements along the way. Most complaint thread are devolved and don't actually help ZOS make changes. If you can't be rational, don't expect people to be rational back.

No one wants to keep anyone from reporting genuine bugs, or discussing genuine issues that affect the game -- but the tone that so many are using is just inflammatory and over-dramatic. Truly, the forum has become a Negative Zone of Trolls and Drama Queens.

The forums have become so toxic that no one can post a positive statement or create a positive thread without being attacked or mocked, accused of "shilling" for ZOS and worse. This is trolling of the worst kind.

It 's possible to discuss issues in reasonable terms, without resorting to shrill and shrewish headers like "YOU KILLED THE GAME" and "ESO IS DEAD!" There's nothing wrong with even-handed discussions of game issues, but all too often the poster shows all the emotional maturity of a five-year old, and lands on the forum with all guns blazing.

Furthermore, there's an inherent selfishness to some of these posts... a real issue or a bug is something that could affect potentially many people, but I see lots of posts from people who are whining because of changes that force them to play the game in a different way from what they are used to. These changes make the game better for potentially tens of thousands of players. But rather than Grow Up or Move On, they are driven to ever-more intense trollishness.

Some of us would like to come onto the forums to share our ENTHUSIASM for the game, but it's not possible in the current atmosphere. The negativity is so thick that it starts to affect everyone.

Yep. Tons of drama and over exaggeration from a bunch of kiddos. So much negativity and shaming on forums. ZOS is very nice and patient with so many rude people. I used to staff for company before, many mean and attack-mode people.

Attacking/insulting ZOS or any company or individual will make them not consider your voice. Being nice and compassionate about your opinion/suggestion appeals to people better.

And if someone disagrees with something that's fine, but there's no need to play hero and act like you're some savior that must spark a revolution to quell your ego.

But then again there are haters or people who cannot hold back their personal ego or overconfidence; those whom are not open minded. Funny thing though is that they'll probably never read this. They only voice what is in their favor and siege those otherwise.

Overall it is sad to see the constructive people have to leave because of these troll/highly self-opinionated people.
Hopefully ZOS better enforces their rules for the sake of a better and more constructive community.

That's not entirely true. I've seen a good many positive threads here. But starting a thread saying huk huk easy mode is off this best patch ever isn't a positive thread (that's just a combination of some so called positive threads. Most truly are). Even so, I'm not going to be shamed into accepting inferior product. That's my opinion. I had almost ended my subscription (well, I did but later turned it back on) due to some things but I believe there's good in this Darth Vader if we can reach it. If some developer's feelings are hurt, he/she needs to consider their career choices. I don't mind if people love every aspect of the game. But I dislike these apologist that tell us to just accept things because the game is all daisies and sunshine when it clearly isn't. Or even worse, its a for profit company or we need to support the game. There's a whole lot about this game I think is great and top notch. But some things are way out of wack and instead of improving, we keep getting worse. Just look at some recent messes. Its just looks like a lack of caring and while no one needs to love their job to the point of disgusting, they are attempting to make a profit from this. And approaching it in exactly the worse way possible.
