Buying Morrowind via Steam..

Apparently getting your upgrades from Steam does NOT update your actual ESO account. If I want to play in Vvardenfel, I MUST log in via the Steam Client. Personally, I find this unacceptable. I purchased the original game through Steam (Imperial edition) and NEVER had an issue playing from the stand alone client until now. Upon contacting CS, they told me there was nothing they could do. Really? I mean, are you freaking serious?

I am really hoping this is just an issue for early access and will be ironed out when it actually goes live.

From everything I've heard, buying and using ESO from steam had always been a wonky mess. Better off to just get the game directly to begin with.

I hope it too , i have the same issue , using the .exe was easy and faster , now opening steam then the launcher ...

I wish I had been able to do that.. But, even though I am able to purchase crowns, they rejected my card twice when attempting to purchase the Morrowind upgrade..

Well after talking to Steam and ZeniMax support, this is now just the way of things. I'm very disappointed...

I agree. I asked the support but according to them, I cant even play without Steam anymore. I'm really disappointed, I had so many issues with the steam launcher, when I bought the game it couldnt even install the game properly (thats why I started using non-steam in the first place).
So yeah, I really regret preordering it via Steam.

Well unfortunately I didnt know about that when I purchased the game, and now I have 900+ cps, full char slots, a ton of crown store items and other stuff. I really wish there was a way to transfer all these things to a normal account, but since its not possible, I guess I'm screwed.

They should have! It was possible to play steam version without steam launcher, I've no idea why would they change it. And why would they do that without any kind of warning.
So now I'm stuck with that steam preorder, and if it becomes unplayable again, I wont be able to play the game I purchased, because normal version says I dont have Morrowind upgrade.
