Error 318: Forced LogOut due to excessive spamming, now can't log back in

I just got kicked out of the NA server with error 318, and can't log back in. Message indicate excessive messaging (in game email, chat).
Character was in DaggerFall, Pattheirry House. Just finished reading and deleting a single message, went ahead and started cooking some stuff. Game froze and got kicked out in the middle of cooking a couple of meals.

Is this normal, server conking out on high volume days? Just worried that I am gonna get flagged as a spammer even though I barely use the EOS messaging system.

Believe it's a bug that's been around for awhile. Doesn't seem to rear it's ugly head that often. Happened to me also yesterday on PC NA.

From what I've read, its not that you were spamming chat, but rather the client bugged out and spammed the server with packets of data.

I've had it happen before, its not your fault, but it would be nice to be fixed.

Doesn't happen often though.

Still can't log in, will try again in an hour, guess ESO got diarrhea from my cooking.

Hey ZOS:
Did a search and found people complaining about this bug back in 2014 followed by your promises to look into a fix. 3 years later still happening. I was kicked from the game for error 318 not even 5 minutes after logging in. So glad I cancelled my sub.
