Which staff and monster set?

So I'm currently rebuilding my sorc towards PvE and my rotation is based around Lightning Heavy attacks and my currently gear is 5 necro, 2 Grothdarr and 3 willpower, I have a nirn VMA lightning staff and a random sharp fire. When I run the dps with someone using drain and lightning wall while I use fire wall I get around 28-30k dps..When I use Lightning wall myself and they just use drain. I actually average 30-32k dps. Any idea why? I would think I would do way more dmg with fire wall if someone was giving me the off balance proc...But for some reason it's not the case. Would it possibly be because of the VMA enchant or? And also if I could get and run Ilambris and I run fire wall would that increase my dps or make up for it or? This build I'm currently getting ready for next patch based around a heavy attack rotation. Basically I'm just looking for suggestions and once I get IA and MD which staff I should run where

lightning wall increases your DPS because of the minor vuln uptime and off-balance proc

with someone else applying it you will do more DPS with fire wall

Illambris monster set. This procs off both fire and lightning and the procs have separate CDs.

If the vMA staff is sharpened (precise will be ok after the update) then run that front bar. If it is any other trait it is best to find another good set with jewelry and weapons or get jewelry for Necro and run crafted weapons and 3 armor. If you are using the lightning WoE the fire proc for Ilambris will be lower, force pulls is mostly what will proc it.

If you run with a group, such as in trials, it is better for the healer to run lightning WoE and DPS run Fire WoE. Brings better dps overall.

Either way, you want to spend most of the time on the lightning staff because most of Sorcs damage is with AoE. Actually, most Magika builds get the bulk of their damage from aoe stills.

Look at builds by people such as Nosferatuzod , Incubusphan and Yolo-wizard. They are all excellent players. That is if you are looking for a solid build for raiding and do group dungeons.

Also, these builds may change come Monday as the patch will bring some unknown changes to the Sorc, but it will still probably be similar.

You said your VMA is lightning nirnhoned correct?

Need both staffs the same to check properly eg both Sharpened.
Plus you mentioned heavy attacks? The lightning heavy is more DPS heavy than fire when you have all dots up etc.

There's to many variables and to little info given.

Forgot mention, I don't think your fire wall (bc not VMA) will not have the enchant active meaning less DPS.
Although I might be wrong on that as I haven't checked myself as I use VMA staff.

What info would be needed? I mean I'm not using Force Pulse or Frags...I kind find myself to sustain well with these so I'm using Lightning Heavy in place of my "spammable". If a rotation is needed my current is

Liquid, Lightning Blockade, Volatile, Daedric Prey, x2 heavy attacks, Liquid, Lightning Blockade, Volatile, Daedric Prey, bar swap, reapply crit surge, reapply lightning form, swap 1 lightning heavy. Then I start from the top. Too poor to afford spell power pots so I use crit surge instead

That's what I was curious on is if I'm using fire wall if my vma lightning staffs enchant is even going off cause it's not a lightning wall

That's what I was curious on is if I'm using fire wall if my vma lightning staffs enchant is even going off cause it's not a lightning wall

And for what I would be doing and based on my rotation would it be better to run VMA Backbar fire (if somebody is using lightning wall) and IA or MD lightning front or what?
