Why Silks of the Sun did not Receive Spell Critical

Looking at Burning Spell Weave:

(2 items) Adds 967 Max Magicka
(3 items) Adds 129 Spell Damage
(4 items) Adds 688 Spell Critical
(5 items) When you deal damage with a Flame Damage ability, you have a 20% chance to apply the burning status effect to the enemy and gain 525 Spell Damage for 8 seconds. This effect can occur once every 12 seconds.

With a 100% chance (or little time between end of cooldown and proc): Increases Spell Damage by 129 + (525/0.66) = 475.5
With 967 Mag acting as an effective 96.7 Spell damage: 572.2

(effective Spell Damage increase prior to this was: 621.7, assuming 100% uptime)

Looking at Silks of the Sun:
(2 items) Adds 1064 Max Health
(3 items) Adds 967 Max Magicka
(4 items) Adds 129 Spell Damage
(5 items) Adds 400 Spell Damage to your Flame Damage abilities.

Always gives +529 Spell Damage to Flame Abilities.
Effective Spell Damage: 625.7

So, if that max hp stat was changed to further increase Spell Critical, you would essentially have BSW be a glorified Law of Julianos (at least for MagDK's with near 100% uptime)

BSW is really only BiS for DK's because of that near assured empowered Burning Proc.


WHAT I WOULD LOVE TO SEE:

BSW 5 item bonus:
(5 items) All Spells have a chance to proc Burning in addition to their other effects. Your Spell Damage is Increased by 300 against Burning Targets.. (Assuming it would increase with things such as Major/Minor Sorcery).

And then give Silks of the Sun the Crit bonus on the 2 piece.

    When I'm thinking about it, the only "give you X damage for your Y attack, with a health 2cp bonus" who don't get the change is the one who were in the game far before One Tamriel. I think they took the recent list (One Tamriel - Morrowind) and forgot Sun in the process.

    Or perhaps they think that since one and only one class use 100% of one damage type, the associated set may be to strong for them.

    The 2 piece health is actually one of the things I like about Silks of the Sun as a pvper, the crit is good too but its nice having a good damage set that also bumps your health up a bit.

    Though I agree with this, I think we all know that the reason Silks wasn't changed from Health to Crit is because that might be perceived as an indirect buff to DK and ZOS won't allow that.

    Short answer is DKs likely won't be seeing a ton of changes before we go live; this class is still quite powerful (as it should be being a tank), even after some of the adjustments we've made to other classes and abilities.

    DK IS NOT JUST A TANK CLASS. #PLAYTHEWAYYOUWANT

    Or they felt crit stats is worse than more health for DK who are being hit due to rushing forward.
