I caught this guy on PS4 trying to scam me today and want him banned. He's on the PS4 eso crime watch page but I want him banned so he doesn't rip off people, not everyone is aware of ways to avoid this trick.

    I watched the video

The transaction almost happened from an in person trade. OP was about offer his money when the scammer pulled aloys (I think it was like 26?). He's a known scammer. Luckily OP was smart enough not to confirm anything on his end. He's since been put on the ps4 blacklist since we can't say anything on the forums. It's a nice group, I've avoided many scammers and called out many scammers in zone chat.

thanks @OutLaw_Nynx ...that's cool knowing there are folks like yourself and OP keeping an eye out for folks like this...

as old as I am - still naive at times about human nature...just can't get how some people can stay inside their own heads with that kind of devious crap rolling atound in there...

They tend to justify it. Selfish people will always have their excuses for their behavior.

ZOS' policy is, "Trade at your own risk", so they will not ban him even with proof.

Sadly, this is true. If you want a genuinely secure method to sell your goods, your option is to get into a guild with them, that has at least 50 members, list the item in the store + the listing fee and guild cut, and let them buy it.

EDIT: Or, if you're in a guild with a trader, list it and tell them where to go.

Mailing stuff COD is not 100% safe. They can sit on the item, though I'm not sure by how long.

Alternately, face to face trades are not 100% reliable, because of people using macros to quick confirm when there's nothing in the trade window. The only safe-ish way to handle this is to wait a few seconds longer than you think you should, before confirming. Even that's not completely safe.

The official advice is that you should only trade face to face with people you know, which, I understand, doesn't feel like a real solution.

I'll be honest, the only trading I do with strangers is from the safety of a guild kiosk. Usually, if I'm using face to face trading, it is someone I know, and it's usually a situation where I'm just handing them stuff, or they're handing me stuff. Not cash transactions. I can't remember the last time I did a COD. I think it was sending a guild member some research pieces years ago.

Not true there have been many scammers on PS4 that have been banned and I will work day and night to get this one gone from the game as well.

Only if they get away with scamming you they can enforce punishment as does any MMO

since ZOS doesn't do anything about scammers theyre only encouraging more ppl to scam. i really wish my favorite game was ran by a company that cared about it's customers.

Report it to Sony, they can brick the console for a TOS violation, ZOS can only ban them from the game.

lol I was in a guild and some of the members were cool at first. Then some of the members wanted to "go have fun". I asked what that meant. They were going to look for young kids, charge them 5-10k for a werewolf bite. Then get the money and run. I immediately followed them around and whispered to there victims so it didn't fall through. Then left the guild. Why do people have to be trash? Just play the game. Don't hurt someone's feelings cause you're to lazy to get gold yourself.

You can still get scammed in a way just not as bad, they can wait on the item for 3 days without buying it to reduce competition

Even they ban him, its just 3 day or so, so its worth it? Wouldnt be it just smarter just put him ignore. Ive said it that hooligans should be sent to own instance (Just like EU hooligans should be sent to UK... We could work as example and lead World to better Place, UK do the right thing even once. ) Yeah long long time ago when we spoke about Megaservers, it should be possible.

It'd be kinda worth it because then he knows the next time is permanent

There have banned several people on PS4 that have been banned for good for scamming people I would list their names but ZOS doesn't want to "shame them" smh. So the more they are aware of the people doing it and the more bans that happen the better off the community will be.

Could you clarify this please. What happens if they sit on it for 3 days? Genuine question. Thx in advance.

I would send it to monetization@zenimax.com. Their experts should be able to professionally assess the videos and discern genuine scams from false positives.
