Got eso on steam. Bought non-steam morrowind digital collectors upgrade. Will it work?

Because it turns out that the codes sold at greenmangaming.com are not steam codes as I originally assumed. Now if I apply this code on my eso account will I be able to play Morrowind stuff? Simple answer please, yes or no. Because I might have to cancel that preorder.

Has Green Man Gaming started sending out keys?

They said they'd start sending them out shortly before the event. Still 11 days to go till early access launch.

To answer OP, it's like noisyboy said. Even as a Steam user you have access to an account page on the main website if you link with Steam. From there its as simple as clicking on "Redeem Code" and putting your Morrowind key into the text box.

I was told by support that once you start your game on steam that was the only place you could play it. That went for content as well. I started over without steam a few weeks ago due to some issue. That's how I found out. I wanted to keep my Char. info.

Yeah, but can you log in to your "Steam" ESO account on the ESO website, to edit your account info/etc? Because then you should be able to apply a code to the account, right?
Or do Steam ESO accounts have no access to the Account tab up at the top of this page?

Only before seven days. After that support has to do it for you. That was so much a pain that I changed the email address on that account and created a new one. Never did get steam unlinked.

    No

According to the support page info. That's all I can go off as my copy is direct from ZeniMax not Steam

As far as I know? No. The copy you picked up from GMG should be playable, but will require you to create a new account.

    So just to double check:
I can buy the Morrowind Upgrade off GMG, enter that GMG key on my ESO account webpage, and my Steam version will recognise that I own Morrowind?

    Thanks in advance.

Your steam account will recognise nothing, but the game will be morrowind when you lauch it. That's all that matters. I wish there was a way to unlink account from steam permanently because eso-steam integration is horrible at best.

    Thank you.
Yep I purchased an upgrade off GMG, entered it into the actual ESO Account webpage, and as you mentioned it works 100% (both in the Steam client and if I for some reason wanted to launch the independant client).

No documentation anywhere makes that clear.

So for those of you with the Steam version of ESO who incorrectly think they need to purchase the more expensive Steam upgrade - don't:
Just buy it somewhere cheaper and add the key on the ESO account page on the official ESO website.

    Sweeeeeet.
    =)

Use the upgrade key on the official website and then it upgrades your account meaning it works through steam or the regular version.
