Dark Anchor Generals

Hello,

I'm going for "General Executioner" and only have 4 generals left. I read somewhere that the game now takes into account what the participates need when spawning generals. I've searched but I can't find anything official to confirm this. Can anyone back-up this information ?

If it is true, would it not make sense for me to grind for them in low populated areas, where the participation level would be lower? The first place that comes to mind is Cyrodiil but I don't feel like getting ganked. Does anyone have a suggestion?

All help and advice is much appreciated.

    Completely random, from any anchor.

Just join an dolmen group and you'll get them in short order. Auridon has one going almost 24/7

I am not aware of any changes but if someone make sense that an open world group type event would look at what the players needed for the random chance a general drops in the boss phase.

Being that everyone needs something different it would make it less likely someone will get what.

    Edit: corrected spelling. Ugh autocorrect.

Yes, there is less water in a desert and so the rubber band will last longer.

That's the kind of info a friend of mine came up with when trying to farm recently as well, but I have no 100% confirmation either I'm afraid. He did seem pretty lucky with bosses when we were at a dolmen alone though.

From the One Tamriel Patch Notes:
    Dark Anchors
•Added new monsters to Molag Bal’s dark army, including Grievous Twilight and Xivkyn.
•Every zone can now spawn any of Molag Bal’s Generals.
•Visuals and combat ability sets for some Generals has been improved.
•Achievements from players involved with an anchor are now taken into account when Generals spawn.

•Every Anchor now spawns Daedra of all types.
•Daedra now arrive in waves, and any arriving Daedra now deal damage where they land.
•The reward chest for completing an Anchor has been made more visible.

Last week my guild did a bunch of Fighter's Guild dailies as a group. I brought my character that's missing 3 generals.

She's only missing one now. :-)

After digging a little more I found this in the T1 patch notes.
    Dark Anchors

Achievements from players involved with an anchor are now taken into account when Generals spawn.

It's hardly confirmation but it does at least support the theory that it looks at what generals you lack. I wonder what "achievements" they are referring to?

What is the respawn timer on dolmens? I was trying to do the FG daily in Bangkorai and there were dolmen groups at all three dolmens. I was always a minute or two late to the ballgame and missed out on the event. I finally just decided to wait at a dolmen to be sure I didn't miss it. Seems like the wait was around 10 minutes.

There is a consistent dolmen group in Alik'r pretty much 24/7. Where as Auridon has AFKers. I believe is what was meant.

Yes, One Tamriel introduced a method that takes into account the Generals you don't know and increases the chance to spawn those when at a Dolmen. However, the larger your Zerg, the less chance your going to get your General.

From the One Tamriel Patch Notes

    Dark Anchors

Added new monsters to Molag Bal’s dark army, including Grievous Twilight and Xivkyn.
Every zone can now spawn any of Molag Bal’s Generals.

For example, it took me 3 years to get the General Executioner on my first character, it took one day on one of my last leveling characters, and that was before he was out of the L30's

You get an Achievement for each General you kill. The unearned ones are the ones it looks at.

And, yes, it works. The 6 Generals I got this morning were all ones I needed to complete the Executioner Achievment while grinding in Auridon. Did not get one general I had already. Zerg was non existent this morning.

Yes, you should try to find a zone with empty dolmens and solo them. You will have a much higher chance of finding the generals you need.

I think it's between 7 and 10 minutes, but it's triggered by proximity. So if there is no player near the dolmen when the cooldown ends, it will not spawn until someone shows up.

If you have groups all over the place (or doing a really fast rotation), they can pretty much get the dolmens to drop in the order that they are doing them.

In a busy zone if I don't know the order, I usually just stay at one dolmen and gather around it while I wait for it to respawn.

Dolmens reset in 6 minutes, provided there are people who are within proximity of it to trigger the start.

You can probably tell I'm also looking for the generals.

    @Rescorla_ESO

The respawn timer isn't super important after One Tamriel since there is almost guaranteed to be someone hitting any given dolmen at any given time. The respawn timers didn't matter BEFORE One Tamriel either, but for different reasons.

To summarize how dolmens work : there can only be one dolmen active in a zone at a time (except maybe in Cyrodiil, too big for me to check). Farming dolmens just amounts to going to the three spots in any particular zone and seeing which one is up, then figuring out where the next one is spawning, and then by process of elimination you'll know when the last one spawns. They come down cyclically so once you finish one rotation you should be able to get back to your first one and do the whole thing over again. This is sometimes really hard to do in a zone like Bangkorai because one of the dolmens is SUPER inconvenient to get to, so know your zone before you start farming. I'd recommend looking up what sets drop in each zone and either finding one that's really good (because you want the gear) or one that's really bad (because you'll be more likely to get a dolmen all to yourself for general spawning purposes) and setting up shop for a while.

This wouldnt happen if you level you character the proper "dolmen" way. Now you have to suffer.
