Multiple levelled characters doing crafting writs is how I make money, but I do have a lot more than 270 hours in the game....

One way that I find is nice and not to soul draining is to get motifs and sell them. Motifs I like to sell are Tinimac, Dark Brotherhood, Thieves guild, Celestial, Dro-m'athra and some more. There are a lot of them now and obviously the ones that are harder to get gives you more money. A lot of them only have a small chance and others have a weekly cooldown and then others require you to meet certain requirements. You can get anywhere from 3 to 40k+ per motif page depending on the type.

Well, one, 270 is not that lot for this game. You put a couple years in, and eventually you'll have it if you don't waste your money.

Of course to speed things up, it helps to be in a guild with a trader. That's half of it. The other half is knowing what to farm and sell.

Also, daily quests. Most dailies will profit you versus the materials/time you put into them.

Finally, collect and vender all the junk that is worth more than 0g. This includes stealing, where everything is basically trade to fence for gold.

There are a lot of different ways to farm gold - and ZoS occasionally rejigs things to make sure there is no single way that is outright best. However, you should start by joining at least one big trading guild (close to 500 members, with guild trader almost every week in a major center). Two or more trading guilds is better if possible. Then, get either of the Tamriel Trade Center or Master Merchant addons, to better understand the value of whatever you can sell.

Some gold farming options that I have heard of in the past, try them out and see which works for you (and has least competition at the times when you play). You want to earn at least 10k per hour:
    1. crafting stuff for sale - typically potions or glyphs - or crafting food with cheap ingredients, sell to merchant (very tedious).
    2. fishing - very tedious, but bait is usually cheap and you can go for the fishing achievements
    3. farming nodes in Craglorn for raw materials and a few nirncrux along the way if possible. Raw mats sell well, but even refined top level mats sell well since so many are needed by crafters doing daily writs. Works best if you are at max level in your wood/BS/clothing crafts and have maxed bag space. Make sure to pickup alchemy mats along the way too, especially nirncux.
    4. Variation: loot treasure chests and do the Grey Passage daily (and two others in upper crag), to try get Ragada and Yokudan motifs; sell those in your trader.
    5. Some people want to get XP fast to level up low level characters; if you are good enough, you can group up with them and sell your time doing Skyreach runs in Craglorn.
    6. If you are really good at dungeons and have the DLC unlocked, do vet hardmode runs of Ruins of Mazzatun and Cradle of Shadows; sell the motif pages. Newest motifs are always the most valuable to sell for gold - although some Orsinium motifs are also really valuable.
    7. Farming trash mobs in public dungeons (works best if you have the crown store merchant and banker). Certain set items are very valuable from some dungeons/zones; or the Wrothgar dungeon bosses can drop motifs (rarely).
    8. Some people farm tel var stones in Imperial City and then sell whatever armor sets are most valuable (or you can buy hakeijo runes and sell them for gold).
    9. If you have a good PvP guild, do lots of PvP to farm Alliance Points, buy Akaviri motifs and sell those.
    10. Stealing to the max each day on multiple alts. Put at least one skill point into the passive which allows you to sell more stuff to your fence each day. The ships in the west side harbour in Daggerfall city (Glenumbra) are safe places (no witnesses) with a decent number of containers - go through them both, take only valuable stuff, go into the outlaw refuge nearby and the container contents will reset if you have room to go get more. Or, if you are still trying to level up legerdemain, take all the food mats as well and launder those.

    Good luck!

It basically comes down to four sources of revenue:

    (1) Crafting -- Do crafting writs. Also sell your crafts. If you have excess gold mats from crafting, sell those, too. Got a master crafting writ you can't make or don't want? Sell it.

    (2) Farm materials, sell them. This includes ores, alchemy mats, perfect roe, runes, and food/drink ingredients.

    (3) Get gear, motifs and other good drops while playing, and sell those. Sharpened weapons and divines armor get top dollar. Rare motifs are found money.

    (4) Stealing from NPCs, lock boxes, chests, houses, etc.

It takes a while to figure out how to do this well, just like any other aspect of the game. I have 2M+ gold after about four months of playing. It's erratic. Some days I net nothing. but I've made as much as 500K in a day,

Do crafting writs. No, it wont fix your problem overnight, but if you do them every day, you will eventually get everything you need to play this game: Gold, Tempers, Repair Kits, Potions ingredients, etc.

I have done various things to make money in ESO. I was farming Daedric Motifs back when they sold for 50-80k a piece. I also made a fair amount crafting early on. Problem is that everyone is a crafter these days. While motif farming still can be lucrative, most of the easier to obtain motifs just dont fetch that much gold.

Writs are reliable and steady income. I stopped doing anything else to make money about a year and a half ago, other than occasionally selling a rare item I find. At that time I was just into 7 figures. Now I am over 10 million with over a thousand gold mats. All of it is from writs (never bought a gold mat). Do them every day on multiple toons (yes that can take a bit of work to get going) and you will never worry about gold again.

Also consider how you are spending your gold.

I pretty much gather/farm/make everything I need myself 95% of the time. The thing I've spent most gold in the game has been motif pages and recipes. So even if I make gold slowly, it doesn't poof.

Also, if your upgrading your character bag space and bank bag space, and horses, well, your going to be broke until your done with that project.

Some good ideas in this thread already, here are some that might be dupes of above:

You start farming gear that people might want to buy at CP160. However there are many ways to make gold in this game.

    1. Just do a Zone, selling all the loot you get to NPCs will net you 25K to 35K per zone after repairs after doing the content. See Number 6 for some drops.
    2. Farm a Public Dungeon, some are better than others but I can net 5K gold in 30 minutes just from NPC Drops in some of them, not counting what loot I get to sell or vendor. Some are much lower in the gold per Mob Group, so pay attention.
    3. Legerdemain, filling your bags with White, Green and Blue Loot will net you 5K to 15K or more, each day, on each character.
    4. Farm and sell in guild stores Alchemy Reagents and Mats. Some flowers sell for 100 to 300 Gold, each.
    5. Do low level crafting writs on high level characters, you get max gold and top tier material surveys if you do the surveys on a skilled character.
    6. Farm Zones for desired gear in the Impenetrable, Divines, Infused (Large Pieces), Sharpened, Precise and Training traits. Farm Dolmens for Purple Jewelry for those sets. Decon, research or vendor the off trait and green/blue jewelry.

Those are just a few ways to make gold
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    Steal. Fence. Profit.

Easily the best and fastest way to earn 10k+/day.
