I have a sorc as my second character and I have not enjoyed it as much as my Nightblade.

I think it's mostly down to me just not enjoying the play style of the class vs what my Nightblade has.

It's just about mixing it up and playing the other classes.

My sorc is my main too but at times I've been months without playing it; whilst playing other classes and roles.

sorc was my first character when i started eso during the inital beta and probably the reason i never played it after and didn't pick it up again until recently...stam sorc is even more boring... i think stamina classes are more boring than magicka - the more diverse skills you have the more interesting it is to play and pretty animation help A LOT...thats why i played gw2 for a long time - it just has pretty animations

It's boring because it's easy. Nobody likes "Press X to kill final boss" games.

I'm on the same opinion as you. I dont enjoy really magsorc too strong, even if I *** up my rotation still can pull out 30k+ dps.
But with Magblade its really a challenge to pull 40-50k out. Much more fun.

    Nope

I find no class really boring, because I make it exciting.

Try dueling or doing something out of the ordinary to add some exictement OP.

I find stamNB boring though... oh and tanks!

    Most exciting class:

    Stam Templar

Many of the other classes are fun to play but not particularly as exciting as a stamplar, a shame I don't play mine often, he usually dominates in both PvP and PvE.

I guess I have a biased preference, I just prefer to play Magicka

No the gameplay is extremely similar between the two classes. Its just Sorcs have good DPS and NBs have *** DPS. NB is not like playing on hard mode at all. Its like playing a weaker version of Sorc, with a very similar playstyle.

Please tell me how a magicka magblade playstyle differs from a sorc playstyle in PvE.
Both have similar rotations based around ground DoTs.
    Both use the same gear.
    Both are ranged.
So no. Magblade isn't a "harder version of Sorc" its a "weaker version of Sorc". But strength and weakness of the class doesn't affect how fun/boring it is to play.

And finally, everyone has their opinions, no need to state that Sorc is boring as fact, because its not a fact. Some people find it fun, some people don't.

templar is the most boring all out. the buff rotation is easy, the skills are easy and spammable, the heals are big- and its basically easy to be good at it in every way. i can never play it for long . at least with other classes you have to buff> heal, time dps, etc.

I think mag sorc is really fun compared to magplar. Magplar rotation is just a clunky load of *** compared, especially because magplar use dual wield.

Mag DK is really fun too :)

Once again, I just don't see how strength of class influences fun or not fun. Magblade is literally the same playstyle as Sorc, but with weaker DPS. While you can work hard on getting good DPS, on Sorc you can work hard on getting amazing DPS. I just don't get how strength = boring and weakness = fun. They aren't really connected IMO.

I play a stamblade not because I like the challenge or because I want to play on the crappiest DPS class, I play stamblade because I like the skills, the animations and the class itself. Working harder to get the same DPS that a stam DK get while screwing up, isn't something that makes the class somehow more fun for me.

I think its a matter of people's attitude, I chose for Magblade for the same reason as yours. The effects and everything but it took me a few months before I learned its rota and whats best for it in gear. With my first time sorc I managed to do that within a few hours, so that took away most of the "challenbge" part from the class from me.

I have a magplar healer and a magsorc dps. Love them both! So much that they are the only two characters I have going. The primary reason I have the magsorc is in case my magplar continues to get nerfed into no fun. I've been surprised that I enjoy the magsorc almost as much as my magplar.

I find neither boring. The healer is a very reactive playstyle, constantly having to adapt to what others around her are doing. As far as the sorc, I don't think I could get bored with a character that has three skill bars! She is more flexible because of that that my old fingers can keep up with. Between her loads of skills and struggling to see her between the martriarch's flapping wings and her own thunderstorms, things are never boring.

was here at launch, mains still my magsorc, alt is magplar, i dont find it boring at all, but i dont pvp, i mean some stuff gets boring like farming to get a specific piece of gear for myself or a friend (when i know a friend wants to get a set, sometimes, i will just choose to farm that area and, if i get it, mail it off to them...along with any other set items their characters may find useful)

i may find it boring if i built to meta and was hellbent on max dps builds...but...my builds got more survival without need of shields/shield stacking in pve to not drop(in most cases, i have shields i can toss on my bar in rare cases i need to play the boss bait (im good at it....leeeeroy!!!!)

for most farming i use storm(whatever its called...gets bigger and does more damage over time...)crit surge(combined they make up in large part for being a vamp and having horrific hp regen...(like 200range..lol) adding the cp line that gives hp back every 5 sec for direct damage..i made up for switching to a crit boosting set..also..full heavy..from launch...tried light a few times and...if im not the target/dont pull agro its all good but...i just cant kite in eso like i could in some other games....kept getting 1-2 hit... happens ALOT less in heavy.. even if i still move and kite most of the time like im a glass cannon(i find keeping the habbit up can help you avoid bad habbits like standing in swarms of mobs aoe+doting without moving... )

you just need to mess with your build, find something that suits your playstyle and that you find fun, rather then tryin to min/max as far to many people do..

sure i wont ever top any leader boards and am unlikely to win any dps contests...but....compared to alot of people a come across...i die alot less often... and have to stop and wait for regen far less often...

if you havent, i suggest working up resto staff as a nice swap in alt option, sometimes it can be fun to toss down heals and help everybody else kill ***.... (and not have to move around like a maniac :P )

oh forgot inner light is always on my bar, major prophecy!!! ;)

other bar is single target centric, curse/shard/fury/..and im so tired i cant remember what else i have on there but i swap it around from time to time, i find encase can be useful if your sealing with stuff like trolls/orgs/giansts...slow beefy targets that its nice to just turn turret on... it can also be useful if you are making a run to a friend and dont want to clear the trash as you go..just spam it as you come up on mobs and keep on truckin...

i may agree is boring if i played the way i see people play in videos lately....reminds me way to much of how people play korean grinders.....the flashbacks...the flashbacks!!!

I used to find my sorcerer kind of boring at the very start of the game, and so I began to play my templar allot more, and then continued to main a templar for well over 2 years, and even created 5 more of them! Then, a few months ago, I decided to dust off my old sorcerer and I love it! I think sometimes it can get a bit boring playing the same class all of the time, so switching it up a bit now and again can make all classes feel fun! (apart from DK, I have never enjoyed playing them, I am not sure why, I just hate it!)

I say try all the classes if you can and decide which is most fun. Stop worrying so much about which has the most dps, unless that's what's fun for you. Elite players will pull 40k on Templar and about 43k on Sorc. You really want to risk getting bored for 3k difference?

Best gear is the same for every class in PvE though. So if you've learned Magblade prior to Sorc, its pretty obvious that you already know most of the mechanics of Sorc, because the classes play very similary. I had done the opposite: I had a Sorc and it took me ages to figure stuff out, then I made a Magblade and I was done in a few hours. Same for stam classes: I had a stamblade and learnt everything the "hard way", then made a Stam Sorc and Stam DK and was pulling good deeps within a few minutes of practicing. Its kinda the way the game works... You learn everything on your first character, then when making alts you already know how to come up with a rotation, what gear to use, etc. etc. IMHO

So no. Magblade isn't a "harder version of Sorc" its a "weaker version of Sorc". But strength and weakness of the class doesn't affect how fun/boring it is to play.

    But what about the stamblade?

Also a golden star for this:
    a magicka magblade
