Do older item styles need a visual upgrade (Difference in quality)?

It seems to me that the more recent an armor set is released the more detailed, iintricate and ornate they are, especially vs the first or more recent sets... i'm not talking about which set is "prettier" or "cooler" - thats very subjective - but simply looking at details and quality there is a huge difference even for earlier and later "high end" styles (for example Dwemer vs Trinimac)...or comparing basic styles (for example Redguard vs similar styles such as Yokudan)...

It is clear that there can be some "visual upgrade" to harder to get styles - but it's also clear that the ESO design team got simply a lot better at their job...and the difference in details is quite substantial at times...so i'm just wondering if older styles could use a visual upgrade regarding details to make them more appealing?

It seems they have chosen to introduce new but similar styles instead of replacing the old styles alltogether.
We already got updated Hircine's Veneer and Ebon Armory with Skinchanger and Ebony motifs. Worm Cult is on the way as well, and Morrowind brings a new Dwemer style which looks superb.

I know they have updated the look of the Ravager set. I have both the old and new versions of the set.

i think they could especially update the very original base sets and make them at least a bit more intricate - style/sets should all look/performance wise be on a similar level so that we see a lot more diversity

I would guess they'd leave these until the day comes that ESO gets a graphics overhaul like other MMO games have had.

I'd of made this a poll, if it helps for future threads. But back to the point, I'd say no. The racial recipes are lower quality items, require common materials, cost less at traders, and can be learned at lower crafting levels for a reason. The new motifs looks "cooler" because they require much more effort to obtain and craft, with rarer mats.

If they were to change them, they'd most likely have to change how you get them and their style materials altogether, as well as cause issues with players whom have already learned them. This is a neat thread and kudos to OP for the idea, but I see no need, with all the new motifs coming out in the future to take their places for good substitutes.

I personally prefer a mix of OG motifs, monster sets, and 1tam motifs for most gear sets at the moment.

I was thinking of the primal/purple. It's really.... fuzzy even when compared to the racial styles.

@newtinmpls Oh you mean the rare styles like Dwemer, Daedric, Ancient Elf, etc? I think they're appropriate, for their worth and rarity in the RNG world. My only complaint is the Daedric heavy armor is very different from what it's been like in past games. I don't think it's bad, just different.

Ancient elf is one of my favorites, and Primal would be, but it's.... low quality graphics for lack of a better description.
