Additional uses for Grand Soul Gems?

I don't know about you guys but I have been at a point for a long time in this game where Grand Soul Gems just pile up more and more.
There is no way I am ever going to spend them all on ressing and charging weapons, they simple get collected faster than they get used.
I know I could effectively just vendor some of them and make a bit of extra gold, seeing as they don't sell well at traders due to the abundance.
But I was thinking what if the developers added an additional use for soul gems as a currency for collectibles or other things?
Would like to hear if anyone has any cool ideas for additional uses for Grand Soul Gems, so they become less useless/abundant in big numbers?
Would also love to hear if anyone feels like the current system is working great and is fine with them just being vendored?
Or if anyone has something else to say or suggest? Developers could also reduce the rate at which you get these out in the world for example.

Massive_Stain✭✭✭✭I carry about 7-800 with me. Same with spell power pots, for trials and VMA.
That said, I would either give some to the folks who outright say they need soul gems, or just distribute them between toons? It would be really cool if we could go full necromancer, and turn some black for when we kill npcs.PC: CP 1200+ DroDest, Bringer of light

I have almost 7000 at this point in time and I only really play my main.
Plus it's more than I would ever need even if I were to carry 700 on each of my character.
Interesting idea. What do you reckon those black soul gems would be used for?
What would make them different than the ordinary ones?
Also I am guessing this would only work for empty ones?
In which case it will not help alleviate the abundance of filled ones, which you get the most of.0 -

✭✭✭✭I never have more then a stack, 200 on me, there is no point to have more. I usually get to 200 and then either vendor 50 or sell them in the guild store.
I have an add-on that auto recharges weapons for me and the master resto, I know that I don't need to recharge that staff but I have it do it anyways, cause I get so many.
7000 of anything in this game is crazy. Why would you hold that many. You have 35 stacks, that is 35 slots that could be used other things, in your toons inventory. Just think about that.

Why not ressurect your allies? Or even the poor fool who thought he could kill an unkillable guard?

✭✭✭✭✭Master weapons have charges that deplete at 2x the rate, so they should deplete quickly if you use them.
Besides that, I've burned practically all of my spare soul gems helping vMoL progression groups. Join one of those and you'll be glad to have so many extra gems!0 -

I'm with the OP, even as a healer in PvP, you'll never use all your soul gems. Having another use for them would be great idea. Maybe in crafting somewhere? Like for special pots or food?@Nermy

You're guessing wrong then. I don't PvP that much, and when I do I 1vX and tend to stay away from allies mostly. If I see someone dead I will ress them since it's AP. I do not know what you mean. I have 8 toons with between 120-200 inventory space in each and a maxed bank and I still would like more room. I am not willing to sub for the crafting bag nor do I care about housing. So maybe that is why you don't have inventory problems, I have each toon packed with armor weapons that I might find usful in the future, too.0 -
