Mag Sorcs and Shields

Bastion Increases the effectiveness of damage absorbing effects by [x]%.

So in real terms, putting points into this will increase the damage my Empowered Ward can take before it dissipates? And will Harness Magicka also get a buff with Bastion? Do they (currently) stack?
Specifically asking because I'm stuck on stage 5 of VMA and am having trouble staying alive - spamming EW leaves no time for watching for the Breaker Trolls.

if you are dps... I don't understand why you aren't using harden ward.

All damage shields stack, and hardened ward is widely considered the better shield over empowered ward

if you aren't a sorcerer healer then you really shouldn't be using emproward ward.

Using Empowered because of the duration. I'm old... ish and my reflexes aren't so good.

Switch to hardened. Run witchmothers potent brew to make up for the lost recovery if you need it.

Try barrier from alliance war or as you said before stack shields.

Healing ward + harden ward

light amour ward + harden ward

bone shield + harden ward

Harness magika is better in some cases. Harness magika can return more magika than it costs.

Witchmothers potent brew is less magika and health is why and the magika regen is not needed on live servers if running with a decent group.

He's specifically trying to finish VMA so def no group. Hard to tell how much he's relying on minor intellect from EW. Losing that could be noticeable, hence the witchmother's recc. But def use what works for your build.

I can see I need to remorph to Hardened.

Sorry, I didn't assume your gender based on your screen name but my bad. Bastion increases the effectiveness of your shields, which do stack.

In VMA harness magicka (light armor shield morph) as it will replenish your magicka very well.

Stage 5 - if you are stuck on the boss fight, just try not to overDPS the boss and prioritize trolls, then ranged mobs than melee (because you can kite him) and then boss.

Make boss brake first platform where you spawn and last platform with shield and sword sigils. When boss comes to the last platform, just take shield and ignore everything except boss, as last mobs will be ranged and they will kill themselves. I just wait for boss to come to the platform, take sigil and place destro ult on the platform and burn boss, very easy.

It is better to use harness magicka if you have low resources and hardened ward if you don't care about resources.

Easy run would be necropotence + lich + infernal guardian, when below %33 magicka just weapon swap and get million magicka back.

Yeah... I'm constantly getting knocked flying by the boss and the first melee add, recover, get knocked flying again, then feared. By the time I manage to avoid them and spam Ward a few times, the troll's broken the first island. At that point, since the boss hasn't broken an island yet, it's time to just give up and try again since if I end up in the water with the boss's health still at around 50% I'm not going to be able to survive the freezing let alone do much damage.

Using Necro + Infall + Skoria, with Frost Resist jewellery enchants, and I think I might change to Poison enchant on my lightning staff.

Stack hardened ward and harness magicka and nothing will kill you...I put 25 in bastion and almost nothing breaks my shields, also keep crit surge buff up always because it heals whenever you crit every 1 second
