Not saying this is going to kill ESO, but that's the last time I've ever seen the community this much in a collective uproar.

The combat upgrade about 6 months before NGE really hurt the game. It was so popular before then, a lot of players left after CU. The NGE change also lost players, but not as many as CU. The NGE did bring in a new player base from there. The game went on for about another 4-5 years before they lost their license rights to SWTOR .....

    Smedly ...

Damn him, he did ruin a great MMO. I did stick it out to the end. They made some good change in the last two years, it was not as great as it was pre-cu, but was still fun .....

I doubt it is money. The herd has been spooked by something and is stampeding. Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!

When someone says, "I don't know who Deltia or Alcast are......" to me that means they have obviously never made.any effort to do any research in the game, any basic younoob search would very likely bring up something from them. So that basically means they are wandering around playing it their way. Cool, but, it also means they will be as oblivious to the upcoming nerfs as they were to the last, which barely effected them, if they even noticed. All they know is they couldn't log in for a few hours.

I'm not sure if I should take offense at your dig at me or agree with it in it's totality. I see no need to put in "any effort to do any research in the game". It's a game. One of many I enjoy playing. I don't feel the need for some internet guru to imbue me with his "knowledge". I've never (in any mmo I've played, which are many) gotten upset over "nerfs". I just play the games I enjoy, the way I enjoy playing them.

YouTube streamers and forumers do not encompass the vast majority of the player base. Only the most vocal group. And just because people are loud, does not mean what is coming out of their mouths is correct. They also need to take into account the way people feel in game and what they see from statistics. There are actually quite a lot of people I know in game that are looking forward to all the changes. It keeps things fresh. In my experience, the ones that complain the most are the ones that are having their one precious toon changed and now have to find a new flavor to play.

Do you know how many major updates ESO has gone through with pages and pages of angst and "I'm quitting" posts each and every time, and you know what, they NEVER listened to any of it and continued ahead with their plans. They know that the overwhelming majority of players will adjust and those who can't aren't worth having around anyway... because, after all, this is an MMO and MMOs change on a frequent basis... and those who cannot accept that and adjust should go elsewhere for their gaming entertainment.

I've been around since launch and I have no issues with the patch notes.

I don't get the outcries from spoiled children. There's something like 6 weeks before it will even hit live, a lot can happen. People need to calm down.

Personally I wish they went as far as bringing back softcaps.

A lot of people want softcaps back, that would fix a lot of things. Removing Major Mending breaks two classes though
  • central_scrutinizer
My problem with the patch is that I just think its tonedeaf and it further undermines my confidence in whoever it is that manages the devs.

I don't actually mind the changes themselves in a vacuum. I can get past the resource nerfs on my favourite stam simply by weaving heavy instead of light which doesn't actually cost me much dps (when considering the alternative of gearing for sustain) and would drastically improve my personal QoL because I've worked in a specific trade for 35 years irl and the RSI's from that results in the cadence of light-weaving turning my hands into claws after a few hours. An excuse to go for heavy over light is actually kind of a godsend to me.

I don't really mind the changes to Templar either, I prefer to play my Templars as DPS.

And the changes might also be offset by other change that might come with morrowind, I don't know. I don't like betas and I try to avoid spoilers, I have no idea what gear ect is coming with the expansion.

My #1 problem is that it's a shovel full of bs to the face as far as many of my friends are concerned, and having folks leave the game grinds me down after awhile, especially in my progression guild that has many folks who are very unhappy about the patch notes but also with changes that they consider to be coming from people who are displaying that they're maybe not as engaged with the actual game as they should be.

It looks like you are not aware of the changes my friend.

Templar loss Major Mending but guess what the new Class can do the "Warden" they can do "Major Mending" so you can make him the best healer.. all the hours all the time that you have spent on your healer templar it was a waste of time nobody will want you on trials because you dont have a Warden Healer. thank you ESO.

"Oh look, competition, non-Templar healers now have a chance to compete with us, the end is nigh! The sky is falling!"
You feel inferior just because Warden has a very low MM uptime? Read the passive please, a Warden only gains major mending if he heals low health target with one of his class heal, so it will not be high, at all. So what about Sorc, DK and NB healers, who have absolutely no MM or very low MM uptime (DK) have been feeling when Templar healers have access to 20-second Major mending? And that they are pathetic compared to Templar healers for 3 years now because Templar is the only class that can feed the group with resources? Where are you for 3 years? Why don't you stand against the oppression of Templar healers, Templar has been the only class allowed to heal in trials? Where have you been? Why haven't you fought against Templar's domination in the healing category?

You will try to say "but Templar is built for healing so it's only fair", oh yeah, so what about making their DPS and tanking capabilities as pathetic as nightblade's healing capabilities? Their DPS is way above nightblade, not far behind sorc, hell, Templar DPS was META last patch. So many Templar tanks have completed vMoL HM, they are immortal in PvP. Meanwhile, no other class has a slight chance to even compete with Templar healers. Best Nightblade healer in the world applying for vet trial run? Go away, you are not a Templar. How does it feel? Have you ever thought about it? No? See.

The people who are not happy are Templar healers who are afraid of competitions. Come one, if you are good, no one is going to take your healer spot.

ZOS have thrown there long time customers aside, lowering the ceiling raising the floor making warden op making the skill lines more aesthetically pleasing to new players. These are all changes indicating they are making great strides to vastly improve there player base catering mostly to newer players.

They have made it clear they dont care about the top tier players only about bringing in new paying customers. From here on out things will only get worse for top tier players. Whats next 1 click dps builds to attract newer customers just like other mmos have done?

Yeah and vet trials were vr14, and the warrior in vet hrc only had 800k. Sustain is going to be worse now, than it was then because you had orbs, repentance, shards, battle roar, stats from light and medium armor and other things. You don't realize how bad it's going to suck.

That's why I'm pissed, you want cp nerfed cool I'm fine with that, but don't *** with group based synergies, and class specific passives that make a class what it is. That's why raiding groups and guilds were so important, you had to have 12 people doing their particular specialty, while working as a team to get good scores. Now you got people talking about dragon knight healers and *** that can pretty much perform as good as a templar. They is *** af.

After two years of paying ESO plus I have just canceled my subscription and decided to play this game for free, no more crowns crates to get potions and garbage, no more buying those expensive mounts and don't feel bad because I was supporting the people behind the game. I still love the game and I will play but they will not get a penny from me. I will use the money for something more rewarding like a 12 pack beers or any game that I missed these two years while I was doimg City of Ash 500 times to get the spellweave divines legs.

I think they created the cure of my ESO addiction, thanks to the Patch Notes I think I'm cured now.

Well thats the most stupid thing i've ever read, not saying you are stupid, but read that again...

A company that 'don't have to' listen to their costumers? The company's goal is to earn money in the end... And who if not the community is supporting the company with cash? So.. think again, a happy community makes a company earn more, and MUST be heard. Im not saying they must do only what the community says, but FFS, they hear their community (thank god) as it MUST be, thats the reason of PTS and beta test periods. To collect feedback from their costumers. To hear what they say.
