The Golden Solution to Morrowind Changes

I've read constantly in the 3.0 patch notes about how things will be a buff if something is lower than _____, but a nerf if something is above ______. So the solution I've arrived to is for everyone to run around with no gear on, and not apply attribute points. As this will most undoubtedly provide the buff that ZOS speaks of, without enabling us to experience the nerf effect.

... Unless of course you're a DK or Templar. If you're 1 of those, that can't even save you. >_>

How is this even possible? they received no buffs to compensate the nerfs to their resource and skills?not to mention the blanket nerf to resources affected by everyone. even if they are "fine" they are still less effective at tanking and dps with the changes... your post only tells me they went down from "good" to "pretty good".

@Tiitus That's what I'm saying. Not only that, but those claims make absolutely no sense at all. Literally none. So a class that had all types of sustain issues to begin with are doing just fine, after receiving all types of nerfs to their sustain ranging from: Gear type, to champion points, to skill cost? Really? I'm not buying it. ZOS even bit Battle Roar. Lmao. But, they're doing pretty good? Riiiiight. I bet. Let those people making those claims go do a few VMA runs and VMoL runs. Let them go do some VAA-HM runs. That's where the meat and potatoes are.

I have no clue about tanking or endgame PVE dps, but generally I found I was able to manage resources as mag DK by casting a lot of magickasteal on multiple enemies, switching to dampen magic instead of igneous shield and spamming fossilize to get stamina back while blocking. I think if I was trying to play mag DK healer, I'd stack igneous with dampen magic to keep major mending up

Wait, what? Spamming dampen? So you weren't even using Harness? WTF? And even now spamming magicka steal on enemies doesn't help that much with MagDK sustain. Go do VMA and see for yourself. Also, why would you spam fossilize to get stamina back? Even if you lose the Major Mending once the shield disappears. You spammed Fossilize to get your stamina back...? What? O_O

I didn't spam dampen, I spammed fossilize while blocking for the helping hands passive to get stamina. And it gives you relatively more stamina now if you are a magicka build. This is a buff for magicka DK and a nerf for Stamina DK (anyone over 20k stam). It was enough of a buff to stamina sustain that I was able survive even after switching to Witchmother Potent Brew with ~11k max stam instead of Tri-stat food with ~14k max stam.

Helping Hands: This passive ability now restores Stamina based on your character level instead of your Max Stamina.

    Developer Comments:
This will be a buff if your Maximum Stamina is below 19,800 and a reduction if it is above.

Because of the change to igneous shield I completely removed it and replaced with dampen magic, which is a much larger shield. If I was going to play as a healer, I would probably want major mending, so I would add igneous shield back to my bar and stack dampen magic on top of it to project the smaller shield.

As I mentioned, I have no clue about endgame PVE stuff, so I can't comment on that. All I can say is my magicka was frequently kept close to full and I was able to use fossilize to get my stamina while blocking.

On live server I use igneous shield in pvp to get stamina. Now I will switch to using fossilize instead.

And I have absolutely zero idea about PVE tanking but if I had to guess I would say because of the change to Helping Hands, it becomes a little easier to tank as magicka DK and a little harder to tank as stam DK.

the play style of pvp and pve is completely different.. tank in pve is group support and survive.. your using abilities that do not transfer well to a pve situation while dampen magic helps you it does little for group support.. igneous shield is a shadow of its former self with the change, its all but useless in a pve tanking situation the major mending buff will be gone the sec its applied. assuming that players apply the synergy, bone shield will take igneous shields place, but then again most tank builds ive read use both...
