I don't know about you guys but with the PTS patch notes out, I can only assume that ZoS are gradually bringing some of the elements of the old game mechanics back.

If sustaining will be a problem amid the update, it makes sense to roll a hybrid as you won't be too dependent on only one resource.
Just to clear the air, I'm not saying that the nerfs are called for as I'm against most of the changes. However, I'm willing to go through a workaround and that means, in my perspective, rolling a hybrid Templar and NB build character for PvP and PvE. I already have a template for it but I need more ideas and opinions from everyone here.

That said, I'd appreciate it if everyone could chip in their ideas for a hybrid Templar and NB build.

PS: Apologies for not sharing my template, I'm just a little time constricted to type everything out.

I had a fun nightblade hybrid build for dungeons, it was great when I used siphoning attacks, I had to occasionally hit something with a light attack and all was good. But according to the patch notes and what I saw on the forums siphoning attacks will be nerfed to the extreme, and now only returns a small amount of one resource. There's no longer a 10% chance of returning a resource for each hit either. This is very bad news for all melee type builds, even the hybrid I liked.

Weaving light/heavy attacks shouldn't be an issue when fighting a boss, but it's going to be a huge pain in the butt to connect when chasing down crowds of trash mobs in PVE/ players in PVP. 70% of the time I'll be facing the wrong way for my aoe skills to effectively connect as I attempt to chase down and hit some trash mob schmuck with a heavy attack up close. Even pure stamina melee builds already have crappy AOE dps, this requirement to weave heavy attacks will hurt melee dungeon players even more.

Ranged users could easily pull it off, sipping tea while left mouse clicking at things from a distance. If all the changes move forward as is I'll be ranged with a staff, same as everyone else, using siphoning attacks and elemental drain. If resource regen is as bad as I'm thinking it'll be, I might play around with a bow /caltrops too as a stamina drain. Heavy attack damage relies entirely on weapon/spell damage, not on the max amount of a stamina/magicka, so I'd go with Pelinals, ranged weapons, split magic/stamina CP and very high weapon/spell damage stats, not sure about the rest.

So long as damage and healing scale off the max of whatever resource they use, as is still the case in Morrowind, hybrid builds will remain undesirable in any group content beyond normal 4-player dungeons.

The changes could make hybrid sustain marginally better, but not enough to really make a difference.

Of course you can do overworld and solo content as well as 4-player normal dungeons with pretty much any spec and build you want, as this content is now incredibly easy. But for Veteran 4-player dungeons and above, you really need to specialize.

This may change but not with Morrowind.
