How can combat be balanced if new characters can use champion points from another character?

estrong20b14_ESO
ESO balances player to enemy. But, if you add in the champion points, won't that unbalance the "balance"? How does the game compensate for that? Two level tens, for example, one using champion pts, the other doesn't. How does the enemy then balance with that?

Then again, if two players, grouped or not, take on a single enemy, how is that balanced? I have so many questions about balance.

Balance doesn't mean that two players who have different gear, and different amount of skill points at the same level can do the same thing. Then why would you bother getting gear or more skill points?

Balance is the strive to make it so all classes have near the same potential to be strong.

Wether this game, or any game, has achieved that is always up to a heated debate.

    Edit: phone typos.

First, the balance of power is only important for PvP. And, even then, there are Non Champion Point campaigns for those who want to avoid the Champion System enhancements.

As far as PvE goes, last I heard, the mobs are not complaining if they are blown away or just defeated. OK, seriously, PvE is really the player against the environment, the player can use what they can to prevail. Be that gear or champ points or whatever. By the time a player starts doing Trials, they are well into the Champ System anyway, be it their first or an alt.

Also, I have not tried a leveling character with no champ points yet, but I think the game still scales you up to certain point if your gear is up to snuff, no matter how many champ points. But this scaling is less so if you have have the attribute buffs from Champ Points. I have not tested this, but all the characters I have leveled since OneTamriel were rolled way back in the Vet Rank days and I had already applied the champ points. I do have one with no champ points, but she is a mule hanging out in Dahlmora. But, if a player wants more of a challenge, they can just forgo the champ points and the buffs they provide.

It's not, the player who sank a huge amount of time has the advantage as they should.

I have so many questions about balance.

I advise you to go directly to the shops, buy a set of scales and return home with them.

Sit on the floor cross-legged with the scales cradled in your lap and concentrate on its weight.

Wisdom will come. Or not. Who can say?

It's Balance because I put time in since day one launch and have them and you don't. You want 600 cp, get on your vet level toon, and grind them out, and shut the *** up before you give zenimax another stupid idea, please . It would give end game players that are almost ready to quit the game, another reason to say bye bye.

Thanks for your replies. I have no problem with players having champion points, I have a few myself. ;) I just wondered how the game could balance all of this out. I guess it doesn't.

It does not really. I am sure you have heard the term Power Creep as it is related to this game. Periodically, the Devs do things to address this, mostly in the area of buffing the mobs health or resistance, or just nerfing skills and gear buffs. This is usually accompanied by a lot of drama from people. For some it is they are losing their Easy Mode, for others, they are legitimate complaints about skills or techniques that are not really too powerful, but are being effectively removed from the game as they are not useful anymore.

Chasing "Balance" is a never ending journey, and your toe will get stubbed many many times along the way.

I believe many of us did the grinding back in the day with vet levels. on at least 3 characters, I ended up with a Vet 2, 4, and 7, when the champion point system was brought in I nearly cried. Wait I did cry because everything was merged and it was beautiful then.
