Staff DK

Urnbak
Does the DK synergize with the staff, not used a DK much and it seems most of the skills are melee ranged, and was wanting to make a DK magicka build using a staff.

It does since in between them you have to weave for extra damage and sustain.

depends on what you are looking for. Lit staff increase your AoE dmg skills an 8% (ie engulfing flames or Inhale) while flame staff helps you with single target skills (increasing dmg an 8% in that case)

On the other hand, World in ruin passive helps you with AoE flame dmg, including Impulse, WoE, Elemental storm, ferocius and meteor.

On top of that, lit staff can apply the concussion status, giving minor vulnerability to the affected enemy (an 8% extra dmg taken)

IMHO, a charget lit staff, using WoE (to get the minor debuff) is a better choice for a DK. You can, on top of that, use flame based skiils, like engufing flames to get a bigger boost. Considering that WoE set concused enemies off balance and you can trigger power lash from flame lash skills on of balance enemies, and adding 75point into thaum (10% extra dmg on off balance enemies), you can't go wrong.

Sarcasm is something too serious to be taken lightly

I had a quick question for someone with experience running a charged lightning staff, as I was considering doing it as well for my mDK.

I was wondering whether having the charged staff and WoE on the back bar would still keep enemies off balance at a good rate if I spent most my time on my front (non-charged staff) bar?

My current setup has me casting WoE and some other AoE/DOTs on my back bar and then switching to my front for direct damage, but I want to maintain a decent off-balance uptime. Currently, with only sharpened staves, the off balance effect is not as frequent as I would prefer. I also wanted to keep lightning on the back for AOE and Inferno on the front for single target/direct damage boosts from the destro staff passives.

So does having charged only on your back bar help much? Or do you really need to have a charged staff active most the time?

The trick with lit staff is in the basic attack AND woe. Woe set the enemy off balance but has a smaller chance of aplying concussion than the basic attack. The chances are increased even more with a shock glyph.

Easiest solution is to put everything in your front bar.

If you pvp, and you and a friend kill like 5-500 enemies, like rly outnumbered but you guys win the fight.. I really find that dk synergies amazing amounts of salt if u both "stick-bash" the last guy or two. Talons and chains and slowly just stick slap him to death. Try different rhythms and beats and stuff...

Resto Is nice on some builds and with the new cheap ultimate and the Dragon blood buff.. It seems like it's much better.. Destro is cool but somehow zos mixed up standard of might and somehow gave it to the stupid stick ulti.. The whole eye of unblockable30k recap ultimate from a freaking stick..melts dragons..at least mine.. It's dumb. And banner supposed and used to work in similar ways.. But you know..you had to be outnumbered and stand your ground..like I'm..it's just an expensive and less harmful ash cloud..anyways I don't use it pvp anymore bc of that..and it's all personal preference..plus time spent building your mdk to your own playstyle..
Double sword and board definitely best..but try it out for sure. I just think at and shield is best since our wings only reflect the light attacks and maybe one poison injection but the 10k snipe just me, my chain pull still sucks bc "cheaters" in pvp were sneaking into keeps and makes no sense to me why this isn't reverted..my ash cloud gives no blind/evasion/igneous shield no longer protects, etc..oh and banner sucks..So you know.. I need to block, need the stat pool increase, like that its ulti actually reflects stuff that come after 4 stealth attacks and Dragon blood works better than heal ward..etc..

    Stickbash..
