Would you like the idea of a "Family Tree" for Vampires and Werewolves?

As in what the title says, would you like the idea of a sort of family tree for vampires and werewolves which would display your character and all their bloodline descendants? For example if you were turned by a Bloodfiend or Werewolf NPC or via the Crown Store then at first it would show just your character then it would show the people you have turned under it and then it would show whom they have turned, if you were turned by another player it would show your name and all the vampires whom you are blood related to all the way back to the first in your bloodline.

Unique titles could also be added for example "Sire 3 Generations of Vampire" and you receive the "Master Vampire" Title, Sire 3 Generations of Werewolf and you receive the "Alpha Werewolf" Title and so on.

It's not really feasible with the way biting works. You could be your own "grandfather".
And how long would you keep these records ? After a while it would look completely chaotic and everyone would be everyones ancestor.

It doesn't work because you can be cured (i.e. removed from the tree) and infected again (reborn somewhere else in the tree).

sounds fun- but honestly if they send one guy to work on this - and away from working on the things that need work, i,e everything - id not be impressed. cool idea- but when a ship has a leak- you dont re-paint the hull.

It sounds interesting, but as other people have said it wouldn't really work with the way biting works in this game.

Also since you can cure vampirism people would just farm the titles - get bitten, get cured, get bitten etc. until everyone has the title.

Great idea OP. I voted yes because you did not give me an "Other" option. Just like the sims family lines where we could see who descended from who and if your pc did not crash after playing the game for a year you was LUCKY. Yeah this would be awesome and easy to code but it would tack on extra data an already bloated teso does not need. Not if performance ever becomes an issue to zos. Ever? lol

Anyway we would need to also see if those ww and vamp descendants were still logging in and playing or there would be no point in it. Do we role play those we have turned who stop playing as dead or captured by vigilantes? Also, how would you include those turned by npc's?

Think how long this game has run and how many vamps came before us who passed the gift on down to us? Who was the first person in TESO to become a vampire? Can you imagine their family tree? It probably died out. Does zos keep a record of all vamp/ww turns from the first day of release? Would they release it to us in print so we could do a search for our name? A report outside the game so no ingame data bloat.

Only if the end result is some sort of weird community ideology that a 'first gen' werewolf or vampire is the only 'pure' kind and the rest are less cool by default, just so I can feel snobby and superior to all those people that have friends and loved one who helped them and didn't have to camp alone in a cold muddy hole for several nights waiting to be ganked by doggos.

That's pretty much the only reason for something like this anyway, showing off. It's a neat idea, but I think it'd be a bear to implement.

I would like the titles and what not but i feel it would be difficult for ZOS to implement in the way you describe. Perhaps some achievements for turning people into a ww or vamp for the first time would be a bit easier

This would actually be amazing to see! I have personally bitten over 200 people as a werewolf, it would be amazing to then see how many other people each of my pups have bitten

I think it would be cool for those who like that stuff so why not.

The reason why I hit "no" is because I grind up the rare spawn mobs to avoid just this sort of thing- being beholden to another player who might want to rp family or bloodlines. No thanks, I avoid my real family enough I don't want to add in game family avoidance too.

I suppose it would be kinda interesting to learn who was the very first to contract these diseases back during Psijic Order beta. When it started, we didn't know this was even part of the game.

I recall at some point a few were vampires but no one else knew how they got it. I was dead certain it had to be in Rivenspire with the Team Edward storyline. I believe the first werewolf player appeared a while later.

I liked how on SWTOR (at least last time I played it) you could make family tree for all of your characters.

Other player character names on family tree would not be so fun.

"Lets see who my vampires benefactors was.. oh xxmurdergankboss420xx"
