Was Cyrodiil used to be underwater? I'm so unsure, but how do we explain having a starfish in Cyrodiil?

Im going to assume thats an error. If you look at the map for TES oblivion, the water covers more mass. Also there seem to be many Alyed ruins partially under water. I think its safe to say molag bal is causing global warming with his gimmicks. Maybe Wamasu farts are to blame as well.

I noticed a lot of the bridges have no water underneath them in Cyro and other areas that definitely used to be a lake or river are now nothing.

Not sure what happened to the water in Cyro but theres definitely a lack of it

    Talos drained it.
Used to be a sub-tropic province, so I'm guessing more rivers as well. Then came Talos and casually re-wrote history and now Cyrodiil is convoluted. Time as well.

I've always just assumed Cyrodiil is going through a serious drought or something. A lot of the water beds are incredibly low or just plain dry. Good examples of this are Lake Poppad, the Corbolo River, and the width of the Upper Niben.

I know 2,000 years is a long time for civilizations to change, but on a geological scale it's barely a lunch break.

    That starfish?

I say, its evidence of godly visitation!

In this particular case, visitation by the mad god, Sheogorath. Packing his wabbajack. Possibly nibbling a cheese as well, but that's besides the point.

And that starfish actually used to be an player character who went out to "gank that stupid looking guy in the two color suit". Just go through your friendslist, see who hasn't been online for years... chances are, they got wabbajacked!

    :p;):D

You see the effects of the war all over, some more subtle than others. Also, wherever you find a starfish, there must've been an ocean on that spot. Had to be. Unless the freshwater lakes became so salty from player tears the starfish immigrated there on the backs of haj-motas to escape the tyranny of the slaughterfish. Invertebrates have an affinity for salinity.

I mean, if coconuts can migrate to England...

This one has heard much of the wamasu farts. Perhaps this one has heard of guar and netch poots causing similar effect. Yes?

Except that Talos hasn't even been born in human form yet let alone become a God. That's why they refer to the Divine Eight in ESO and not the Divine Nine.

Cyrodiil is wrong in eso for that reason, it should look like a jungle.

Not to shame you for your grammar, but your title should either be "Was Cyrodiil previously underwater?" or "Did Cyrodiil use to be underwater?".

Ah yes, I see what you mean now. Just thought it was another post trying to be funny. But still, when Talos used CHIM to reshape the land it may have changed it in all times as well. At least thats common theory behind it since I don't remember ever reading actual proof.

I don't know about the starfish, but the lack of water has a possible explanation: water is made from the memories of dead mortals. A lot of mortals die between now and Oblivion. Thus, not as much water as there will be in the future.

@Vigarr eso isn't wrong as a lot can happen in the next 2000 years.
Who's to say a Mage or event that occurs creates that jungle?
