How important are the DLC?

As a new player who just bought the regular edition of this game, I was wondering how important the DLC are? Not just for now, for endgame too. Will I eventually need them to do certain things for example specific dungeons/raids that are important in endgame, or to acquire certain important things, or are they just not necessary.

Well, there's a ton of stuff to do already in the base game. However -

Eventually, depending on how much you're going to play down the road, you're going to miss out on a lot from the DLC.
From new dungeons, to a plethora of sets that are only found in those DLC, to partaking in specific events. You'll feel left out.

I highly recommend buying the gold edition when its on sale by you, it's well worth having the DLCS, especially if you're going to stick around.
Also, you cannot do Maelstrom arena if you don't have Wrothgar. Which is considered end game content.
There's a ton of other reasons to get the DLC, but I can't name them off the top of my head.

Plenty of things in all of the DLCS combined.

Yes you will. There are Endgame dungeons and stuff in DLCs. Like even Hew's Bane is a good place to farm mats some and that is behind DLC. Some craftable gear is behind DLCs like Julianos which is a good "starter" set to go craft once you hit level 50 or CP 160 if you are magicka character until you farm other sets. So there are things like that. Also i will say this, i could never ever play without the ESO craft bag, to me its one of the most important things in the game. Your inventory management is very hard in this game. But you have to sub to get it but then you get all the DLCs for free as long as you stay subbed.

Also big big hint, if you are crafting, start researching your traits asap and put points in it to reduce research time. It takes a long time to research crafting so stay on top of that.

    Not that important ATM.

That depends on what sort of player you are though.

Well I would reach end-game before asking those questions, so you can answer them yourself.

Reach end-game. Subscribe to test out DLC content. Then decide if you want DLC's.
Dragonborn, huh? Was it your ma or your pa that was the dragon?
