Do you think ESO popularity will recover from current downswing?

So right now there are already many indications to it that ESO is loosing players fast and amount of new players is minimal. I myself joined the game during gold edition sale and the amount of new players was huge. And I myself playing only 10% of time I was used to play back when LFG was working. The grind is also down, my 4 trade guilds sales barelly selling now after Homestead hype is over.

So what is you opinion, do you believe Morrowind will bring a positive or a negative change? Or maybe there will be a slight positive change and then a collapse?

Yeah. Every indication that I can see in the game on PC NA tells me that the opposite is happening.

Although, the pink horses are likely a texture problem on your end. I suggest a repair.

I voted this way as a representation of Cyrodiil, where I spend 99% of my time in game. I have hope that they'll eventually work out the balance issues, performance issues and the like. Yet I'm no longer holding my breath.

It may be a matter of perspective.

If you only engage in 1 or 2 activities in the game, LFG and gold grinding, then you may feel the population of those activities has dropped. But the game has many activities other than that.

Questing, RP, GUILD TRIAL AND DUNGEON RUNS, PVP, material gathering, build crafting, gear farming (typically with guilds or friends), etc. (I capped guild dungeon and trial runs because I think this may be the root of your perceptual dissonance.)

If anything, there are SO many new players that the LFG system is generally avoided by the most skilled and serious gear farmers for the sake of efficiency. Better to run with a solid group that has things "on farm" then to take up the mantle of "trainer of noobs."

Not that it isn't noble and immensely generous, training noobs. But sometimes the LFG system can pair you with some really toxic people. Again, a matter of perspective, or luck. Like certain times of the day you just learn to avoid LFG. So that may be another reason, if you are playing during one of those times.

But regardless, all sign seem to point to more people lately rather than less.

Also, biased poll is biased. :p

Always see a lot of players on the pve side of the game (pc/na). Certainly agree about the markets being quieter. People were leaving the guilds (3 sister trading guilds), due to low sales.

trading guild sales will suffer until anniversary event is over. mind you, to my incredulous surprise, i am STILL selling. much slower, but selling. overall though thanks to anniversary box drops, most people are waiting for prices to drop further before doing their buying.

on the other side - I constantly see groups going for various dailies, CONSTANTLY. all day. everywhere. in certain more popular areas I start lagging like crazy due to sheer amount of people around. and even less popular areas, i constantly see people around.

PvP might be suffering, I don't know I don't do it enough to gauge, although I do constantly get notifications from the campaign I joined (lvl 50 non cp 30 day, for the curious) for a sole reason of trying to get those shards/delves/treasure maps and have yet to find a decently quiet time where I would feel safe doing pve stuff in pvp area. but as far as I can see in terms of pve? seems plenty busy to me.

P.S. if what you are selling Op, are furnishing patterns? you may want to lower your prices. since market is getting more and more flooded with those, all the while more and more people get their crafters situated and don't need to keep buying those anymore.

I'm immune to any Elder Scrolls hype they can drum up because this is my first ES title, so I can't say how much the people who are long-time fans would react to it, like Morrowind. What I think will happen in ESO is the casual playerbase will continue to increase but the competitive playerbase is on the decline. I imagine the competitive player base was highest at launch, while the casual playerbase was the lowest.

Yes furniture prices has collapsed, also in part as you can only sell 30 items so many farmers dump prices to get room for motifs.

I'm on EU server and here's a list of basic indication to a serious decrease in interest to ESO:

    1) There's no que at evening time to enter Cyrodiil on any campaign. Only 2 months ago i was looking at "You que position is 150".

    2) Guild sales. All my guilds total sales went to 20% of Homestead launch. I have Wayrest and Rwalkha guilss.

    3) Online players is half of what it was 2 months ago in my guilds and friends list.

    4) The prices of ESO ingame gold published on markets dropped down 50% since Homestead launch.

From my own experience last 10 random normals I made were filled with high cp players. Don't see many lowbies lately.

I have no idea of what you are going on about.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

First, what actual information do you have that shows ESO has less players now than say 6 months ago?

Second, my trade guilds are still doing fine. Also, some players said Homestead killed the market, basically they did not adjust. Of course it could also be many in your trade guilds are trying to sell items without adjusting the devaluation that occurs with new items and such.

Finally, GF works just fine for me. I get speedy pops. Certainly does not take any longer than 6 months ago, or a year ago FTM.

Maybe your just in the wrong guild or something.

Don't compare your sales to a large patch. We got in a huge amount of marketable items with Homestead, all those new mats and furniture recipes. Of course once people start finding their own or bought up their must haves, prices will go down as well as sales.

We have recently readjusted our inactivity policy in LWH to be stricter because we were full and constantly having people look to join. We've never had more members online during primetime before. Definitely not seeing any guild downswings where I am.

ESO is doing just fine. Oh, and we will see a big boom with Morrowind... So when the rush starts slowing down after that, don't worry, ESO isn't dieing.

From my own experience last 10 random normals I made were filled with high cp players. Don't see many lowbies lately.

    1) We couldn't get into TF yesterday. Haderus was 3-pop. So we BCT fought there, plenty of action.

    2) The sales of furniture made up for the majority of the sales at Homestead launch. You have to compare to the sale prior to Homestead launch.

    3) Online players of Overwatch is 5% of what it was 2 months ago in my friend list.

    4) What do you mean by that? Buying gold with real money? There are so many bots now so there's a real competition in the black market.

What I can notice is the decrease in number of skilled players. Not saying that I am one, I am currently trying to git gud. The game is catering more and more towards TES playerbase, which is a good thing since the open world is amazing. Downside is that a small population is left unattended. Maybe after Morrowind, ZoS can focus on fixing PvP? Well, I have a dream.

I believe it is already more on the upswing, at least on PC NA.

The lowest point in population for us was probably a little while before One Tamriel. Since that time I've noticed new players joining regularly.

As for the PVP population, it seems to be lower than it used to be, but I hope that will change with the introduction of battlegrounds. Morrowind will probably sell a lot of copies to players who remember the Bethesda game fondly.

I suspect many of us will also spend most of our time inside the BG - if we get a lot of new players battlegrounds has the potential to become more popular than other endgame features like Cyrodiil, Imperial City, dungeons, trials etc.
