??????? You can teleport to any of your houses for free just click them on the map like a wayshrine. Or do you mean that they specifically forgot to add that to a house?

Why....because teleporting out can cost a lot if you do so too soon.

I think the better suggestion is that home travel to and from should be treated as using a wayshrine.

    That resolves the issue.

    [snip]

And what do you mean by wayshrine? a Physical object?

You can already teleport to your house from anywhere, as well as travel to other wayshrines from inside your home.

If anything, an easy solution to what you are asking for would be to just change the cost of travelling to wayshrines while in your house to 0.

Your solution will have TWO loading screen, but if we have a wayshrine in house it will be only ONE loading screen. Much convenient cuz everyone hates loading screen.

hmmm... don't generalize something you hate..
I don't have problems with loading screens. There's so much you can do in those 5 - 10 seconds.

    - grab a drink or something to eat
    - kiss your girlfriend
    - check email, facebook,...
    - stretch out once, 'cause sitting al day isn't good for your back
    - think about what you all have to do after the loading screen or what you have done before
    - do those mats of your theorycrafting (it will take a while if you only have 5 seconds, you'll probably wish having a longer loadscreen
    - ....

    ;)

The solution is already in the game. Get the Apartments you get essentially for free (or buy them) and use those. Since they are all in a City, and most are close to a WS, it gives you free travel in essence to leave the home.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

It would be nice to have an item that works like a wayshrine and can be placed inside homes.

Porting to any house resets the cost for porting even though it's free. So when you want to port out of your house and travel to a specific wayshrine, shortly after you've entered, it'll cost around 1k gold for a lv 50+ character. And sure, you can travel to the location of guild members, but the roster only shows what zone they are in, not which wayshrine exactly is closest to them. And porting to another house that is close to a wayshrine will create two additional loading screens as others have pointed out.

At the very least, porting to a house should not reset the cost for porting to a wayshrine. If it was 146 gold before I ported to my house it shouldn't suddenly jump to 1,150 gold after that.

As I read above...it seems very few are comprehending the OP

In short....IF you travel to anyone's home or your own, upon leaving, there is a cost rather than if being free or treated as a wayshrine. That's the issue

Wrote this on another thread but no one saw it I think. More importantly this should be added to housing,

One suggestion I have, not sure if someone mention it but containers like in programming or scene building, sort of like a folder. You can move multiple objects together as in one scope and keep the rotation and position with the other objects in that scope. For example, in my video I have the hot air balloon but I can put all objects that make it into one "folder," and move it somewhere all together. Because currently if I want to fly up in the balloon. I would have to move a whole bunch of separate tiny objects.

If you're too impatient for an extra load screen and leave by quick travel. You could walk out of your house and go to a wayshrine and use it for free. Hell, the Vulkel Guard apartment is right next to the WS. Port to your main house, do your thing, port to the VG apartment, walk out the door, use WS. Free.

One trick I use that I'll pass on... You can preview a house and exit it and it'll take you right back to where you were before you ported. For example, say you're in Belkarth turning in dailies and you port to your house. Then you want to go back to Belkarth... Preview a house from the Crown Store and exit it and it'll take you back to the exact spot you were in at Belkarth before you ported to your house. Extra steps but it's all free.

Just going to troll you all morning, bud. Haha. Do you play the same game as the rest of us? LOAD SCREENS!!! Houses need wayshrines, period. The fact that I have to open a roster, travel to a random, then use the shrine to port where i need to go is just unnecessary, especially since load screen time has slowly crept back up to the super annoying level.

Seems reasonable to have a wayshrine inside the house, but this could be sold as a furniture in Crown Store, like the merchant and banker. People who think its not worth it wound't buy it, people who do, like OP, would.

Or bought with writ vouchers aswell.

The responses to this post make me want to punch a baby guar. There is a HUGE failure in communication here and a missed opportunity for a great discussion.

    ACTION
OP makes a really cool suggestion that would add value to the game and be a great gold/Crown sink. If you can buy attunable crafting stations, target skeletons, why not be able to buy a wayshrine for your house?!?!?

ZOS could make it cost a ton of materials or even make it a crown exclusive and make tons of $$$ selling it as it would look very cool in your house (and there are tons of different wayshrine styles, imperial, woodelf, etc) and give tons of utility plus everyone visiting your house could use it to port out to anywhere they wanted.

    RESPONSE
But, instead of discussing the merits and drawbacks of this suggestion, almost everyone in this thread is simply telling OP to use travel to player, or some other workaround.

THE DUDE WANTS A FREAKING WAYSHRINE IN HIS HOUSE, NOT A BLOODY WORKAROUND!!!!

If I asked my friends what type of car I should buy, and they all told me how to get where I was going on foot, or handed me bus stop schedules, I would get new friends.

Pre-emptive pedantry prevention edit: I admit OP could have phrased his post better, (as a suggestion instead of a demand), so that might have set some people off. I don't think ZOS owes every manor owner a wayshrine but I think it would be awesome for ZOS to SELL a wayshrine as a homestead feature.

Where would said wayshrine go in houses without an exterior area? I don't think I have space in Hammerdeck End for a wayshrine. If we're not talking about a physical wayshrine, but just reducing the cost of fast travelling from a home, I'm good with that.

ETA: I'd also be onboard for a purchasable (for writ vouchers maybe?) wayshine. Then you could choose to have one, or not, and place it wherever you want.

This is not a solution but rather a work-around that involves extra steps, load screens and time.
Wayshrines in homes or removal of TP costs from homes is the obvious solution.
