Shield of Bahara's Curse

The following is a story of how a single shield can change a life. I started farming the area of Hew's Bane over the past few weeks to get said shield. I was a friendly farmer. If someone was fighting an enemy near a chest, I'd leave them be, as I believe the chest is theirs at that point. I farmed nodes and killed furry animals to make the experience more fulfilling. As a humble farmer I knew it would take time.

Then one day I was frustrated with the opening of chest after chest (hundreds) and came across an advanced chest that a gentleman was currently fighting a mob for. And I stole it. This is the exact point when everything changed. I felt bad so I offered the man a trade for gold. He declined the trade and I felt worse, but what if that had been the chest with the shield in it. It turned worse when the same thing occurred about an hour later, and I realized my personality had changed. I was now ruthless. It took time to come to terms with my new look on life. I now decided that no one was going to stop me from getting this shield. (Especially not you, I'd think as I raced to the next chest spawn with another farmer) This search, which is still incomplete, has turned me into a different, darker person. It's everyone for themselves. I'm out to get mine.

P.S. Take everything out of the damn chest/node/thieves troves you pieces of scum!!!

I think I have six divines Baharas shields. My toons use them for chamber pots.

Did you come around with any heavy pieces of the set? I've literally spent 2 months farming and I didn't get A SINGLE HEAVY PEACE. They were dropping without issues before when the thieves guild came out. Now I can only see it sometimes in guild traders (could be old pieces). Is it bugged or something? (XBOX ONE)

Hmm, I have a full set of light, medium and heavy. All store bought in the not too distant past. Never looked for a shield though.

The craziest thing is that when the thieves guild was brand new, these pieces used to drop all the time from random dailies. I remember having loads of the stuff and thinking "when will I ever use this?" And now I've literally been to every guild trader on Xbox NA and haven't found a single one to purchase. I open upwards of 100 chests while farming each go. I've gotten like two sets of purple jewelry though, and that stuff sells like hot cakes.

Bahara's cure sounds good but under performs, doesn't do enough damage or healing to matter.

Use it with leeching in vAA Hardmode, it is great

I was fighting a mosquito next to a chest in Hew's Bane, the ones that leave a ground aoe when they die that spawns 3 more little mosquitoes. Well as the mosquito I'm fighting dies I see someone run in and try to grab the chest, and the most glorious thing happened...the baby mosquitoes spawned and attacked him instead of me. I opened my chest and got my loot as he fought them off. Probably didn't get anything good, but it was the most satisfying chest I've ever opened, lol.

So, the person whom first opens the chest determines what's in the chest.

So! If someone gets a chest from underneath you, you know that it actually "that one" that could have had your shield, based on the individual (as in the other player never existed) the next chest is just the next chest.

Gaining more chests per minute is beneficial just based on the fact that we have limited time in life, however a person getting a chest in this game has no influence on your "luck"

So I think of that and things bother me less.

Plus, maybe that other player doesn't have that treasure hunter perk and in fact getting worse items than you would, something to think about
