Well, we'll be getting expansions every year, if ZOS holds to their planned schedule. As for necromancers, we'll be getting them the Tuesday after never.

I want something involving the Sload remaking the plague, and you need to travel to Thras to stop them. And since the sload are master necromancers, they could add the skill line along with it.

That could be cool. An expansion focused on the Maomer would also be a fun option.

How about this, killing two birds with one stone-

The Maomer could also possibly be worked into a sload dlc. Since maomer are mostly the enemy, that could be a way to get them on your side. Out of fear of the plague, you could be forced to work together to stop it. You could have to ask them for help with getting to the sloads or something, since the sloads islands are probably heavily guarded with storms and rough waves, you could enlist the maomer for their ocean expertise. And they could also become a playable race through this.

there are streamlines of necromancy already as we speak many NPCs monsters are necro mannimarco the main antagnoist of morag bal is a necromancer high elf aldmer and the undanted skill line has the blood ritual and necrotic orb

so there is a lot of room to work with its not like its not implemented in any way shape or form...

The Molag bal chapter is over. Bringing Necromancers in now would make zero sense and considering it's illegal in TES I doubt they will bring it in as a playable class. Maybe a skill or two but not a whole class.

Yea don't think necromancy is gonna be a thing. The main villain in ESO is a necromancer and a lot of bad guys through out Elder Scrolls in its entirety have been to and its been illegal since a long time in Tamriel. I would rather not see it become a thing.

Probably never. In this age of Tamriel a Necromancer should be met by fierce opposition. The towns people should not be accepting of a necromancer and the reasons would be obvious to anyone who has completed the quests.

Besides, the OP contains nothing to support the title. Merely add more content faster,

    Who knows?

Enough people have been whining for necromancy for there to be a definitive market for a necromancer DLC... it could happen, someday, with an "infiltrate the nercomancers" theme and some area somewhere... make the skill line a guild instead of a class (since its probably not enough for a whole class considering that all we see of necromancy in the game is maybe one skill line, and not three - besides, that would mean more people would buy the DLC if they can "refit" nercomancy to their favorite magica character, yes?)

But I expect there are probably many more ideas better suited to do for them first. After all, necromancers -are- closely tied to Molag Bal in general, and that guy kiiinda is still a bit yexed at our vestiges for kicking him in his... well, you know.
How about this, killing two birds with one stone-
    ...
I'd rather they develop two stones, and sell each to us seperately as DLC, that way we get more content to play through for our enjoyment.

I definitely want to see a Maormer themed DLC. Doesn't really nmeed a skill line, though one with seafarer themed passives (swimming speed, maybe even breath holding if they add some underwater fun and so on) might be applicable. Definitely would want a crown store unlock to play Maormer of course.

But if they make necromancy for players, I would want to see that as its own guild-sized DLC.

...just like murder, so we cannot have any dark brotherhood DLC... uhm... well...
    You see my point? ;)

I guess its more of an issue that necromancers are generally one step down the evilness ladder from assassins. After all, dark brotherhood murderers can always tell themselves they murder innocent NPCs for sithis, or that they 'had it comin' for doing something to make someone else mad enough at 'em to go through all the ritual to call a speaker and petition ofr a little bit of inhuming... necromancers are generally sacrificing innocents for their rituals, -especially innocents-, it says so right in their spell requirements... that is a little harder to stomach for a character who might at least try a little bit being a hero with all the quest setup and so on, so it might make a DLC storyline where you play as a nacromancer apprentice or something a bit... difficult. Hey, its not all fun and raising skeletons, you know... ;)

So, it -may- be iffy for the powers that be to make a necromancer guild storyline, without getting too deep into the "possible lawsuit from offended players" minefield... just like some other options I doubt we will ever see for player characters in the game (slavers guild, anyone?)
Of course, that is something they will have to think about.
There are always ways to make a questline without the player character getting too deep into the bad stuff, like mentioned, with an "infiltrate undercover to bust them and save all the innocents" theme.
We shall see, if they ever choose to do this or not.
But even if they do, it likely would not come anytime soon I would wager...

    why?

we heard the TES lore as of now in this time and space of ESO that its illegal with necromancy in cyrodill and across the 3 groups that its illegal what about a 4th faction that is a neutral one or free for all one that is with the mannimarco side that includes a necromancer as the only playable class? i know its way off the handle but yeah...

I mean tamriel is not the only mainland i heard about the akaviri stories about half snake people and half humans that the blades rpotectors of the imperial king talked about and were i think the imperials originated from also dwarfs sure they are suppose to be exterminated with snow elves but like maiq as we know spans across generations... how is that? there are multiple precautions that can be taken by individuals to bypass hard locked measurements...

i dont know but necromancy would be a great addition in my opinion i mean we already have the vampire line which takes into account that vampires are undead? and can be counterered by the figher guild skill line

If they did it would be part of an expansion, not a DLC. Added value for an expansion. Since they are now adding the second summoning class it would probably not be next year due to the need for variety.

    Here's the thing:

    - While a Necromancer hero can make sense (Disgraced or betrayed Worm Cultist or someone who refused to join them), there are stories in this game where it absolutely won't fit. Alik'r Story is the first one that comes to mind, where it is shown that the Redguards abhor them. And I don't think Tu'whacca would give his blessings to one
    - Gameplay-wise: summoners are very strong. And with the Warden coming up, we'll have 2 of those classes so I don't think there's a need for a 3rd one. At least not in the foreseeable future

I get that a lot of ppl would want the Necromancer class, but I personally hope that it doesn't come. Maybe a Necro weapons like a staff (the ones NPCs use to summon a skeleton) or an upgrade of the Soul Magic skill tree

Personally I would like to see the existing classes expanded upon like adding a fourth skill line to every class rather than adding any new classes. For the next chapter obviously.

Would this be a Sorcerer-like class, but summon skeletons and zombies instead of Scamps and Twilights? That seems a bit superfluous. It would end up being a reskin of existing summoning skills. Since there are going to be reskins of Warden bears, maybe just add reskins of Sorc summons one day, so you could have evil sorcs that summon undead.

Or would this class literally raise killed enemies to fight for you? That would be a problem, too, because it would make necromancer very weak in endgame boss fights that do not have a lot of adds. It would be like Repentence. Fantastic in trash pulls. Worthless in most boss fights. But that is one morph of one skill. Building an entire class around the need for dead bodies would not really work with current game design.

Whoa, after dragonknight and the warden how is necromancer the lore-breaker? They've been a part of every TES game with plenty of books and plots. Not every necromancer raises an army of undead and plans to plague the land or destroy Tamriel you know, some just keep to themselves, raise back their loved ones or someone to clean the house.

While some of the main antagonists are necromancers, there are those low-profile ones, mages delving into academic research, digging some graves to finish their ritual, use undeads to work the farms or even keep greater evil outside their lands.

Necromancy is forbidden of course and so is murder, theft, and even some quest choices can raise controversy, so why not necromancers?

There is plenty of information to why would necromancer be a viable choice even for non-evil characters for instance as described here http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:The_Legend_of_Vastarie

"Elsweyr is said to be relatively accommodating to necromancy. The Khajiit are said to show little if any outrage over uncovered graves, and corpses can apparently be purchased in the port of Senchal."
    http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Necromancy

Saying that necromancers are not lore-friendly reminds me of one post I once read stating that unarmed monks aren't lore-friendly, and I'd classify it as a heavily personal opinion with no consideration to the vast TES lore.

You think every necromancer would walk around town with a sticker on their butt saying "I do it with corpses"?

Unless you walk into a town with a bunch of skeletons carrying your luggage, no-one would know you're a necromancer.

That's all it would take to make this realistic - make it a crime to have summoned undead or use necromantic abilities in town, with a crazy enormous bounty which doesn't decay over time because necromancy is bad, mmkay.

For the record, I have zero interest in playing a necromancer. Yuk. But it's a popular class theme in the gaming world and ESO might benefit from offering it.
