we need console trade forums

Zos can't be bothered to make a half decent trade system for the game, and console players don't have access to search addons to bypass that incompetence.

I've spent days now trying to find an abah's watch shields motif on ps4. I swear to God I'm developing carpal tunnel from having to manually scroll through thousands of motif pages with absolutely no way to filter results. This is beyond ridiculous, zenimax, it's asinine.

If you aren't going to get off your asses and implement even a basic text search, at least give us a forum for this crap.

Over the past few days I've checked all the major town guild traders daily, but it's just pages upon pages of Mercenary, assassin, and ra gada motifs

Zos just doesn't want to admit that the system they came up with is bad.

It's different but the system is the exact same for all platforms....I disagree that it's a bad system

I agree that it has flaws and there are opportunities but I disliked the traditional auction houses in other games and that attracted me to this game with how guilds work

It's by far the most realistic system

FYI there are sites or were sites if that's your interest as well as social media like a Facebook group, etc with thousands of ppl listing items by platform

When's the last time you went to a street vendor or booth vendor in a mall and instead of being able to ask the guy if he had what you were looking for, you had to look through every single item he had for sale while wearing a set of blinders so you could only see one item at a time? -malls in real life (literally different traders with limited stock and options) that's the traders in different towns
-internet (limited stores and products by specific website, that often excludes other countries)...that's the social media I mentioned
-street vendor (limited stock and limited presence ) that's those ppl spamming chat

Auction house global - this doesn't exist in real life. There's no way to see everything anyone wants to sale in once place. Not even EBay or Amazon can be likened to the other games versions of global auction houses.


It's just that this games options aren't what you like.....if it's a deal breaker, then that's it.

There's that... and they cater to a certain "more core" audience (like youtubers :P ) that comprise the controlling "trade guilds", that would be undermined by a global auction house.

I actually wouldn't mind if we had a compromise. The guilds could remain as the front ends for players to access the auction house, drop off/pick up goods, etc. They could take a percentage of the sale, but should NOT be able to price fix. If they want to still make guild collectives and try to influence prices in an open market, so be it.

I'm not even asking for a global auction house. A simple text search at each guild trader would suffice. That way I only have to spend a few seconds at each one to see if they even have what I'm after, rather than hours sifting through trash I have no interest in buying.

I do think a drop down filtered search would be nice. Not text tho it needs to work like the rest of that interface
And add in to exclude known recipes, motifs and items in inventory for weapons, etc

@Lynx7386 It may be something in development? Buff trackers got confirmed for Morrowind, which is great. With all the new sets and items coming and going in the future I am sure they will have to look back at this. Until then it is just console life, a month ago I spent around a million gold on motifs I didnt have and abahs was priority always being at the mid-end of the traders. It took a while alright, don't even have it all yet..carpal tunnel lol.

Ugh, I'm sorry, I checked my bank and guild traders and I have five or six Abah's chapters but not that exact one. Didn't mean to get your hopes up, I could have sworn I had one but maybe sold it a couple weeks back. I hope you find it.

And yeah, I wish we could search trader stock by keyword or something.

BTW when I was looking for that last Abah's chapter for myself it took a week and I finally found it in the row of traders outside Elden Root. they seem to have the highest concentration of motifs anywhere.

And text search is more coding, cos you need to define what can go in the text box.

lol no it's literally not that simple, but if you wanna keep acting like you know something and looking ridiculous, go ahead. I don't know what language they used for the game but regardless of what they chose, it's not that simple.

Do yourself a favor and get a usb/Bluetooth keyboard. It's made console text chat SO much easier for me. I started as a pc gamer, I can type 140 wpm on a keyboard, but that onscreen junk for consoles just wouldn't do.

You can use the XB/PS4 apps to text chat from your phone, too. That's the more convenient solution for most people.

I agree regarding filter drop vs text search. The other part is this eliminates possible bugs moreso that text.

Consider there are no text search features in the game today for stores and such.

Text chat isn't up to par on consoles per others

I'd rather not open the door to ppl using those code entries either

I love it when people say an auction house isn't realistic...for a fantasy fiction video game where you can cast spells, lose your soul, dragons exist (mia atm I know), etc.

But not to get off topic, I agree there needs to be a text search option. In the meantime just do what I do, go to each major city and spam zone a couple of times...usually works.
