I hear a lot of "This game is so broken I don't play this stupid game anymore"

.... but seriously. Can someone answer me if you don't like a game to the extent you don't play it anymore, why are you on the forums for that game?

You must surely understand how ridiculous you sound when you are active on the forums of a game you hate and posting about your hate of the game? Why the effort? It makes no sense.

Please someone enlighten me what you are doing here?

Because they would rather spend their time whining about a game they don't like or don't play than go do something else they would actually like. Or maybe, and this is not always the case, they want to like the game but issues prevent them from doing so. Most of the complaints about "broken" stuff usually come from console players though which suggests it's a combination of hardware and software related to the platforms.

It's human nature and not just here in the forums.

Those that like it, tend to enjoy the game and not post on the forums.

Those that are unhappy, tend to be more vocal. You see this behaviour in many industries.

It's bc they love this game and really want it fixed but they are going about it the wrong way. Somehow they think threatening to leave the game is going to make the devs go crap we have to fix this!

I don't play it anymore, for the time being, but I don't hate the game. It's just that I also play another game, as well as re-living old and new adventures in Skyrim, again. Working nine to five, I only get about 4 hours of free time during the week, so I want to make the most out of it, and those two games are a bit more fun at the moment than ESO.

I'm just here to stay a bit up to date with the game, so that, when I return, I know what happened and I don't have to ask why my level 12 friend is able to easily kill my main (looking at you, One Tamriel). And I'd rather do that from the constant players' perspective, rather than wait for the next announcements.

I love the game, yes it has its faults but all in all it is probably one of the best MMO's ever created.

Its because players know how much potential this game has and if they go about it the right way and make simple changes it can go back to being amazing. Thats the point of view.

This game is broken. I mean the NA servers crashed three times this weekend, forcing players to wait between 5 minutes to over an hour to be able to log back on. Even more so is the disconnects that still plague PvP campaigns.

Most of the 'hate' you witness is not hatred. Many are upset in degrees with the game's development, stability, profit model, other players, you name it.

For most, there is no hatred. They just wish something that bothered them could change. Claiming hatred is a common tactic, it gets attention but it's... misguided, it doesn't convince most people to ally with the sentiment, and it most certainly does not convince the devs.

I find the little issues with the game really don't interfere with the amount of enjoyment I get from playing, for example sure there is lag in Cyrodiil but that doesn't stop me from going there and having fun.

My only issue is lag in trials, it should not be an client issue because of 980ti, i7 and 32gb no lag in cities except load times, a couple of lag spikes with dolmen zergs.

ESO , as beautiful and wonderful as it is , has a lot of issues . It has some of the best graphics in any MMOS and some of the most cool particles animations I've seen in multiplayer for not being turn based . Anyways , like Sir Andy and many others say often , fix one code break another . It's all apart of the difficulty of maintaining a good game .

The other part is compatibility . So many different types of computers . Some people still holding on to dear life with Windows 7 . Hard drives you can almost carbon date . I would say the issues are maybe half player side and half ZoS side . The problem that leads up to critical rage posts is ZoS takes a long time to fix some things . They could certainly improve in that area ...

Then there are consoles and all the mix matched problems between xbone an Ps4 . There's not many MMOs on those and a large part of that audience is just not use to MMO struggles .

I read all of them with a grain of salt because most of us have been at our wits end more then once .

As far as current MMO options go, ESO is the best atm.

Only other noteworthy titles are WoW and SWtoR. No thanks to that.

When i first heard that TES mmo is developed (2012 i think) i was very excited. Great lore, begging to put in MMO convention and great budget - what could go wrong? It will be innovative, it will be groundbreaking!

What i got was average theme park MMO with DAoC PvP full of bugs and questionable design decisions. At first frustration was real. I wanted to love the game but i couldnt. Dumbed down "young adult" writing with bad quest mechanics do not help either. And then there is heavy monetization that i am not used to in the games (yes also MMO games).

So months and years passed and now i log in a few h a week (if that) when im bored with other activites. ESO became just a minior pass time. Sad that its TES game - fell in love with the series since buggerfall.

Some people still play the game, even though it is broken.

Some of us are hoping that they will fix and improve the base game.

There are some that refuse to believe the game has problems.

I don't know, I don't believe it is people saying that they want the game improved in some mosguided way. Looks more like people holding a grudge of some kind against the game. Usually if people seek improvements they post some kind of suggestion, as opposed to a rant titled "Everything wrong with the game". At the very least, they could hint at an idea to improve the game.

Once dealt with a Roleplayer who complained about having to play the game to get access to different looking armor sets, and essentially said "*** this game". So yeah, he expressed hate for the game, and his reason for playing is very stupid. "I want to Roleplay in this game" is not a good enough reason to force yourself to play a game you "Hate".

Oh well... There are many kinds of people out in the world, and many of those people deserce a Darwin Award

The game has issues, but its addictive, some things in here should of been fixed years ago and yet still exist, you kinda can understand why people complain, also if you have put lots of money in the game you want to stick out with it and hope that it will all add up soon.

If they didn't care about the game they would just move on to another one without saying a word. It's when nobody is complaining that you have signs of trouble, because when people stop coming to the forums to highlight issues in the game, it means they have probably checked out and no longer care enough to see the game fixed.

There's another game that I have played for 950 hrs thats still in development. I no longer currently play it as i don't like some of the bugs that have been there for 2 years or more that really affect game play and I've got tired of these bugs. However I'm still very active in the forums and still ask for those bugs to be fixed and when they are, I will be back, so I do understand someone with a passion for ESO but find things spoil their current play style (could be PVE only, could be PvP only, could be combination etc) .

Nothing I hate worse than someone asking me on that other game why I am posting in the forum if I no longer play. I wouldn't have 950 hrs logged if I didn't have a real love for it.

I left ESO for 6 months but still visited the forums and when I read that things that were bugging me were better, I returned.

    Simple.

People are stupid and I mean that.

Because they want to play the game but they dont want to because its not "working" for them but fine for others so out of spite they come to the forums and complain so they can drag others down with them. its not intentional of course but its simply a need for those who dont get what they want to identify with others to the point where they feel like they arent alone in their frustration.

Its all really quite sad actually but i do wish they would stay away from the forum instead of trolling just because they cant play atm or refuse to.

This game will always have issues, and lots of them. As long as the devs have to deliver 4 dlcs a year, they won't be able to focus on fixing what's already in.

It takes time to work on contents, even the simplest like dungeon dlcs (ie.: SotH) As of right now, I'm sure they are working on building 2 remaining dlcs for this year while finishing Morrowind, and conceptualizing at least Q1 and Q2 dlcs for 2018.

I work in the industry and trust me, the devs are being worked like animals. Not so much the ones with the big titles, they just have a lot of meetings, but the ones you never and will never hear about.
