I'm it's a loaded question but if I decided to level my alchemy to 50 and buy alot of mats with either Telvar or buy mats from traders for gold and made it into pots and sold the pots any rough guesstimate on how much profit I could make?
Playing on PS4 NA server and current characters are CP 750

Lvl 50 EP High Elf Magsorc PvP (outdated)
Lvl 50 EP Wood Elf Nightblade (Currently my crafter)
Lvl 50 EP High Elf Magplar PvP (outdated healbot)
Lvl 50 EP Redguard Stam DK PvE (updating)
Lvl 50 EP Dark Elf Mag DK PvP

All my builds are outdated...I quit for a year lmao

Pots not always gonna sell, maybe sold 2 of 20 pots per week. But regents sells well daily, so adding up, it's the daily sale that profits more.

So would it be worth it to just farm Telvar and buy the alchemy mats with Telvar and sell them for gold?

Trust me. Spell Power potions will sell. Especially if you price them well.

As a trial healer who runs several trials daily, I burn through these and have to constantly buy them.

Both healers and magicka based dps will need these.

Would I be making much of a profit buying all the mats to make into potions and then selling the potions?

No, its the ingredients that cost. You might make a slight profit but its not like the recipe is a secret or anything. You might be able to tack on a little extra since most people try to buy the potion outright rather than buying ingredients, but for the most part every end-game player has a character that can easily make them if they had the ingredients.

At least on PC-NA, the most expensive ingredient right now for spell power pots is Corn Flower.

If you are buying them with tel var stones that you gathered, then yes obviously you'd make a good profit since you did the collecting.

In ESO, since everyone has access to basic crafting, you generally won't make a profit buying ingredients and crafting stuff. The only items that can potentially make a profit are ones that require research or an expensive recipe to create. Anything that is a recipe anyone can make simply by leveling up (ie any potion or glyph) is not going to make much profit if you are buying ingredients to craft with them.

Most people make money by collecting mats themselves and either selling mats directly or the finished potions.

Useful pots will sell well if priced properly. It is usually less expensive to buy matts but some do not have the time and others do not want to be bothered with it.

I dont find farming reagents to make pots to sell worth the time/gold value. I tend to just always pick reagents when i see them in the open world then when i have enough i craft a stack of spell power and sell them off reasonably cheap. Unless your in a decent group the telvar stones don't amount to masses of reagents although you do get keyshards you can sell or sell what you get from the key chests (sometimes valuable items, more often not). On a side note, if you spend 4 hours in the hollow city picking reagents then you'd have quite a few altho in 40 mins you could pickpocket in vulkhel guard and make 20-30k instead and that's guaranteed.

As far as I know, tri-pots, spell power pots and weapon power pots are still selling quite well. Definitely worth giving it a go OP.
