please allow Master Crafters to change the style of the dropped armor and also the dropped armor traits.
Edited by Gilvoth on March 30, 2017 6:06PM
best in slot: is the armor, weapon, clothing look, pet, or no pet, jewelry, race, class, skill choices, amount of DPS, and skin color best fit to you and the way you wish to play and makes you feel good and performs what YOU think it should be.

worst in slot: what you read in zone chat, and forum comment, and forum thread, and you tube video, and live streamer advice, and class rep advice, and guild chat advice, and whisper told you to wear, and use for skill, and dress like, and use for weapon and armor.

Style is the only added value of crafted sets at the moment, why make them even more useless?

Yeah sure, we need to get even the few last people who use crafted armor, to change to dropped sets. What a great idea. I like this much more than idea of buffing/adding more crafted sets. :)

But dropped sets are better than crafted. I miss my Julianos and its Outlaw style, but I think my teammates prefer I wear SPC and Worm.

Yes to style - make it something master crafters can do - to maintain the need for crafting, it could be a glyph like items that when used transformed our item to the style crafted into it, but I don't think it is a good idea to be able to swap traits :)

It would make my 160+ points into crafting skills actually worthwhile if I could change the style for the dropped sets I'm forced to use.

Don't think trait changes are a good idea, but style definitely.

    Style yes, trait no.

Or at least, not the standard traits that drop on gear currently. If they created a system wherein crafters had exclusive access to a newly added trait...then maybe it would make sense to let them apply that to a drop.

Also, recommend that modifying the style of an item should bind that item to the account. It should be a reward for the player who crafts, not a new thing for people to spam /zone to request someone do for them.

Right now, there's little point to motifs and so many of the dropped sets are of pretty basic styles.

I've been saying forever that if you are a crafter and want to change your armor styles on dropped pieces you should be able to, as long as you know that particular style. Don't agree on the trait thingy though.

Or change weight, as I mentioned in another topic. It would open the possibilities in many ways.
From Light to Medium to Heavy to Light...

Want BSW in heavy? Upgrade it to Medium then to Heavy.
It could cost the same material amount used to craft an armor piece, maybe even add the enchantment and style stones.

I agree with styles. but traits, no. I know people are forever grinding for the perfect traits but that's part of the game.

everybody instantly having the perfect builds they need wouldn't be good for the game I feel.

Something absolutely needs to be done with crafting, but forcing players to choose between power and aesthetics is a bad move. We shouldn't hold back the aesthetics of dropped sets because crafted sets are lacking in power. They're both lacking in their respective areas, and should be brought up in the specific ways they are lacking; dropped sets need to be easier to work with aesthetically, while crafted sets need a boost in their power.

Because as it stands motifs don't really serve much purpose unless you want to intentionally gimp your toon by not wearing any dropped sets.

If crafted sets were on par with dropped then it wouldn't matter as much. I don't consider the style of a crafted set to mean it is more useful. I guess maybe for those into rp it may be useful but we have so many cosmetic items besides motifs now that it is almost irrelevant.

Technically they will kind of give you the ability to change armor styles with Morrowind. They will let you convert your existing armor to a new style, but it is just one (that I have heard) and just once (that I have heard).

You would need to know the style to convert it to. This makes crafting knowledge more relevant

    No.

The entire point of crafting is to craft from materials. If you're not willing to commit to that, then don't craft and rely on RNG to get what you need. There are no shortcuts.
