Thoughts on PVP as a returning player (played on all 3 platforms)

I have played on and off since PC beta. I have been max CP and i have PVP a lot. Came back to the game very recently and have tried to PVP but its impossible with how high CP is now. 600 CP is insanely OP and is discouraging to new players and i am not even technically a new player. I literally cant do damage and just constantly get one shotted. Even got hit for 28k with a destro ult wearing all but one piece impen. Only chance i have is to Zerg. And very seldom did i ever get beat 1 vs 1 even a year ago on a different platform. Sorry for the rant but i feel bad for true new players. I said when it was announced, CP would get out of hand and i see it now from a newer player perspective.

Impen matters little when people are running around with over 10k+ spell pen. Only way to negate it is healing and damage reduction which is why people now usually run around in small groups 1 or 2 healers then a bunch of dps. Sure spell pen doesnt effect impen but if half of your resistance is bassically made useless then impen really wont protect you.

best way to deal with destro ulters is negate. It screws them over so badly. if you arent a sorc, team up with one and ruin my day. Im a bombblade btw so you know, I know whats painful for us and what isnt.

Low CP players still have a chance and infact ive come across some extremely good low cp players over the last few weeks. They dont fully engage instantly, they bait you test your defenses figure out your weaknesses and use them as their own strengths.

600 cp is just a number, skill is what counts. I could bomb alessia bridge all day melting zergs but.. it wouldnt really matter if one skilled individual figured it out and turned and then I would be useless because they would be ready for it. Everything has a counter, everything can be beaten. You just need to figure out how. 100 cp vs 600 cp is no different. I know because I used to be in the 100 cp area vs 501 cp.

IDK, i just started playing again after almost a year and a half off, and i was pretty discouraged on my first trip back to pvp last night.
Though, TBH i think its more the high end and proc gear sets that were giving me more problems than my 300 CP.
...But those 300 extra cp do also give a player the infinite sustain that allows them to run in full heavy it seems.

Regardless, im patient about the CP grind, but i do sorta miss the days i could get by with a crafted set and some willpower jewlery and not get completely wrecked.

This is exactly that a zerg game. 3 massive zerg collision. Theres literally tons of balanced PVP games out there, if you're into that kind of stuff.

Play in Azura, CP are disabled there. Counter destro ult with an ult of your own (the resto staff ult is good for this) or you can become a vamp and go mist when they use the destro ult.

Yes, I created a new toon, in celebration of this current festival for the double xp. So, I had to return to PvP land to get the vigor and caltrops. I dislike PvP the first time with my other toon and still despise it now having to run it with this new toon. You kill, get killed, get revenge for yourself or a buddy (yayy), attack and capture keeps, get attacked and get your keeps captured, you re-attack and recapture keeps, your zerg wipes the floor with the other zerg and your zerg get wiped, and press repeat, round and round we go. How the effing hell do so many peeps spend all those times in there to get Emperorship.. Wow, good for you guys and gals.

A laughable statement. Champion points do not belong in PvP, as they worsen the little balance we have. Skill is quite irrelevant when factually there are builds that are better than others. Heavy armour is very strong, for example. However, in a case where two players using the same set-up were to duel, skill would matter.

Balance is hard to achieve in a game with builds, but Zenimax aren't doing a good job trying so far.

PvP is getting worse and worse. I played it since game original release ( 2014 ) and this is something I noticed. PvP is gradually becoming more and more broken. ZOS instead of fixing PvP:
    - Insane Lags
    - Insane unjustified FPS drops
    - Broken & exploitable mechanics
    - Gear Sets that give bonuses / procs sets that are getting out of hand
    - Racial bonuses that basically leave you with like 4 - 5 races that are relevant when it comes to PvP
    - Re - loggers (yes you can log off from one alliance and log in with another character that is in another alliance while in the same campaign - basically switch teams).
    - Plenty more to insert here (If I would post every single thing that needs fixing in PvP I might as well create new thread)

Instead of this ZOS added gold merchant with random unique stuff to encourage more people to play PvP.

Impen is highly overrated. Heavy Armor is king and proc sets are way less powerful than a few months back. Also, while I do not agree that CP are overrated (they help a ton if you already know what you are doing) they do not matter more than experience.

For example, the coordinated zergs like to move in and out while chaining together destro ults. This move is very telegraphed because the wave of people pull in and push out. If you stand in the way of the train because you follow their initial retreat ... you ... will ... die. However, simply standing at the foot of Allessia Bridge (instead of the doorway) will allow you enough time to move laterally instead of backwards. You ... will ... survive. Then you can fry people one at a time.

It is very possible to survive and thrive in against a Zerg as long as it isn't 20 on 1. Even 20 on 2 can get the Zerg to split its attention. By the time it gets to even 20 on 5 it can be a fair fight if the 5 are talented enough.

The only major problem I have with today's PVP is the lag/disconnect/load screen nonsense. Otherwise it's more balanced than ever before. Last quarter it was a nightmare for everyone except stam sorcs and the cheesiest of builds. Personally I've retired my proc set completely.

PvP in this game is a mess. No balance at all. if you want that, find another game.

Or play sorc if you want fun. You can tank with shield stacking and do dmg as same as a NB or any other dps.
Oh, and heal like any healer.

This game is made for play sorc.

    Go Azura.
    No CP.
    Problem solved.
Make thread after you get killed there by zerg trains.
