I pooped myself when I signed in today. I had to agree to some licence agreement, thought my game had reset back and all my characters might have been deleted.

I'm ok though. Didn't read the licence agreement, did anyone? Did I just had over my first born?

If they make any changes to the TOS or the Privacy Notice they have to show it to you again and ask you to accept the new version before you can sign in.

ZOS don't actually care whether you read it, all that matters to them is that they have proof you agreed to abide by it so that if you broke the rules, they banned you and you took them to court (or you took them to court over something absurd like "they said this game didn't require any fees but I have to pay for internet access, ZOS should pay my ISP bills!") they can prove that you agreed to abide by the rules when you signed up and it's your problem if you didn't.

Same reason concert tickets usually say "no mosh pits". No one's seriously going to try and enforce that, but if you get your arm broken you can't sure the venue/artist/promoter.

99% of the time it's pretty standard stuff no one would seriously object to, but if you're worried about what you're agreeing to the best solution is to read it.
