How to improve my sustained DPS?

So, I was doing some DPS testing last night to see how good I was (this is on a Magicka DK). I pulled 21k DPS over 4:45 (285s) against a Robust Dummy, but then realized I only lasted that long because I had the Atronach Mundus on. So I swapped to the Thief, and then tried again (I only changed Mundus Stone, nothing else). I went back to the Robust Dummy, and ran out of resources with potions on cooldown and my ultimate wasn't ready yet, so I stopped the test. It lasted ~2:00 (120s). The DPS I pulled in that 120s, however, was just under the Atronach's 285s DPS. So, enticed by this obviously higher DPS, I was wondering if there's any way I can sustain myself in a fight like this.

Ele drain?

You could also cheat and use a max magicka+mag regen food That will sustain you likely but it's not something you'd be using in any group content obviously so Idk how results would measure with this. Technically in a pre-mde group setting you should get more buffs I guess like Worm and synergies restoring magicka and orbs maybe and whatnot so you could pretend that food is all the buffs combined and just see what kind of numbers you can pull when sustain is not an issue.

I did have Elemental Drain up. I think Combat Metrics stated that the Minor Magickasteal was up about 84-85% of the time.

I had Bi-stat health/magicka food on. by max magicka/magicka regen, do you mean something like the Witches Brew? (Max Health, Max Magicka, Magicka Regen) I have some of that on an alt that I could grab and try again with. Thanks for the tips though!

You could either use that Brew - which is viable even in a group, but it would lower your magicka and hence dps slightly - or a blue food/drink that's Max Magicka+Mag Regen only, no health - which is obviousoly not viable in group hence why I said it's "cheating" lol. For testing purposes only though I personally use it.

Edit: A friend made me some of that blue food thing, I don't remember its name but it definitely does exist.

Rotation for magDK:

Front bar has Embers, Fire Blockade, Molten Whip, Engulf Flame, inner Light, Shooting Star

Back bar has Flex Spot (harness magicka usually, or chains), Rearming Trap, Eruption, Flames of Oblivion, Inner Light, Standard of Might.

Start battle with Flames of Oblivion -> Eruption -> Trap -> Bar Swap -> Engulf -> Embers -> Fire Blockade -> ~5 whips -> Engulf -> Embers -> Fire Blockade -> 3 whips -> Bar Swap -> Eruption -> Flames Obvlivion -> Trap -> Standard? -> Bar Swap -> Engulf -> Embers -> Blockade -> whips....repeat just keeping dots up.

Usually I use max magicka and mag regen food while doing dps dummy tests as in a real group you'd have orbs and worm to help.

Ele drain is also needed. If you don't have someone helping you with ele drain, you can put it in your flex spot.

Dunno about the rest, but on my magDK whenever I run out of magicka i just use heavy attacks with light attacks weaved in. only drops my dps by about 1K while doing it. (gotta love them 36K heavy crits)
