What advice would you give ZoS if they made another mmo?

1st off tho. Is there a chance ZoS might one day make another mmorpg? Or will they forever be bound to this one? If they did make another mmo in the Elder Scrolls series what advice would you give them? I'm not 100% clear on the Bethesda Zenimax who does what but if I understand it right Zenimax makes mmo's for Bethesda and Bethesda makes the single player games (eso and fallout and that other stuff i dont remember). And somehow ZoS became the fan abbreviation for ZeniMax Online Studios. Final thought, perhaps to much but whaaaaaaaatever; what if Bethesda hired another corp to make a Fallout mmo? If there was a fallout mmo I would want it for xbone cause living room is where friends and friends play fallout and all my rl friends are xboners.

* My advice is this: Next time don't let the bankers and merchants say their spiel more than once. Or make option to shut all trades npc voiced dialog off.

If, for some reason, they decide to make a new MMO, don't release it on console. EVER!

Invest the money in having a team in house (in their offices) who focus on security.

Then keep an eye on servers and players tickets to work faster on bans for botting, exploiting, cheating, RMT and server security.

Also have this team identify issues which whilst are not exploits would effect the integrity of the game and can highlight those issues for emergency patches or hot fixes.

Scrap this megaserver architecture because it's not good.
Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.

    1. Do not make a MMO with a PVP focus first. They allways suffer in balance for the long run like this one is.

    2. Emphasize performance. Games like For Honor or really any MMO with any sort of PVP, emphasize performance, and running on lower systems with ease.

    3. Let me buy, what I want to buy. These timelimits on digital products with no supply issues just *** me off, and dont make me want to keep buying from you.

Do these three things and your next game, if any, will be -much better- than this game.

Optional:: 4. Make a game with classes with static abilities. Seriously, the reason ESO is so bad is because this kind of design is incredibly aimless when balanced for a genre that is predominantly group based. Elder scrolls freedom of choice just does not translate into MMO format without some backbone, and this game lacks that backbone.

    I'd suggest they look at:
    • The way Guild Wars 2 scales content to player density.
    • The Secret World for the way they handle quests and their repeatability.
    • Everquest 2 in relation to player created content (e.g. housing/dungeons)
    • Lord of the Rings Online in terms of their fashion system (though Guild Wars 2 & The Secret World are very good also)
    • EVE Online in terms of creating the foundations for a great player economy.
    • Black Desert Online in terms of travel.
    • Rift in terms of dynamic content.

Hire more technically skilled developers and less gambling crate 3D model designers, so that blunders like with the current state of the group finder don't happen, or get fixed in a timely fashion.

They should have a seperate resource for defensive abilities like dodge roll, blocking, break free, shields, defensive buffs, and healing. Then the armor types can give bonuses to their individual defensive type. So light armor would give bonuses to the defense resource associated with healing and damage shields. Medium armor would give bonuses to the defense resource associated with dodge rolling and break free. Heavy armor would give bonuses to the defensive resource associated with break free and blocking.

This would further separate the healer, dps, and tank roles. Tanks and healers would focus on the defensive resource where dps would focus on their individual offensive resource.

In PVP you would have to decide between all damage, all defense, or a balance between the two. There would be no builds that have both high damage and defense.

I agree with most of this except with the black desert travel. I hate autopathing/autocombat in games. It is one of the things that turns me off from a game automatically.

    1. PvP first? lol. I mean, all that pvp content we always get
    2. For Honor runs like dog**** on low-end rigs.
    3. Time limit is a form of supply control. Anyone can get it, but gotta get it on time. It is rarity they aimed for
    4. Doesnt even make sense

Either make a MMO or an RPG. This mash up is ugly. It feels like you made an mmo with people who know nothing about mmos and an rpg with an annoying amount of people running around.

Or make sure you get another popular IP, because then we will buy whatever junk you put out.

If you opt for classes, have plenty of them that cater to different playstyles.

Classes should be based around passives, not active skills (pretty much how races are in ESO). Active skills should only come from skill lines everyone can learn.

If you must have PvP, use a flagging system similiar to what SWG had.
PAWS (Positively Against Wrip-off Stuff) - Say No to Crown Crates!. Outfit slots not being accountwide is ridiculous given their price. PC EU/PC NA roleplayer and solo PvE quester

Id have to agree with the "dont" answer. I love eso...but i dont think id be in the minority in saying, if it wasn't elder scrolls, would i still be here? The fact that i LOVE the elder scrolls series makes me forgive alot of stuff wrong with this game. I came for the name, i stay for the name...

So could they succeed at a fallout mmo, sure...but it would be the same as this. The name alone hides alot of flaws.

If this game wasn't eso but was something like...Knights, rouges, and mages online...would they still be in business?
