All Houses Now Impossible to Exit

I am stuck teleporting from house to house. I cannot exit ANY of them, all I get is a never-ending loading screen.
Previously, I was at least able to exit by paying gold to use a wayshrine. While this is outrageous, it at least worked.
Now, even that isn;t working.
So -- the houses are basically traps to hold our characters prisoner?
