As long as they're forced dimensions like yours and one per signature. Some signatures are absurdly long, colourful and obnoxious as it is.

✭Hmm I think its a nice idea. Though like someone said above as long as it stays at certain dimmesions, the one you have shown is a good size, not too overbearing but eye catching enough. I think avatars should be a choice too.

Most forums I've been in have allowed images in their signatures with no problem... just keep it to certain size restrictions and don't allow animated GIFs, and they're really not that intrusive. ✭✭✭✭✭I'd be ok with it as long as there was a limit to the size of the images (preferably quite small, like 400 pixels wide and 100 high) and most importantly only static images allowed.
I quit one forum because they started allowing gifs in signatures and it seemed like every other person had a gif of some random from a TV show doing a "funny" expression, except the recording was about 3 seconds long and played in fast-forward so the end result looked like someone having a fit.
I didn't want to leave, but I found it impossible to concentrate on the text with these flicking images taking up 1/2 the screen, and it was pointless for me to visit the forum if I couldn't read anything anyone said there.
