Pledge of Mara......dead?

So I got married. I've had the Pledge of Mara hanging about since 2014 and decided to get hitched to a friend. It wasn't true love - it was a marriage of convenience. Convenient XP to be precise.

However........ Having tied the knot and slipped on our wedding rings, we found.......nothing.

So, is the whole Mara / wedding thing a total bust? Is it broken? Does it know that I married a cat purely for the extra XP?

Agreed. We were hoping the xp buff would stack. But we couldn't see an xp buff at all, hence the question.

A few things about the Pledge of Mara.

One, you have to be in a group with your Spouse. Two, you have be together, basically within line of sight of each other. Three, and I am not 100% sure about this, but you might have to be wearing the ring (again, this might not be a requirement)

So, group up, be close to each other, see if you have the buff, if not, put the rings on and see if you have the buff
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

As I recall, you need to be close enough so that their health bar is not dimmed on your UI. So, not exactly line of sight, but still quite close.

Considering the changes to training stone , the mara ring is extremely weak.

They definitely should do something to make the Pledge of Mara relevant, I think its good idea wasted, plenty of things they could do that would really add to the game.

Before one Tamriel it was a stacking buff however this thing was never worth it's real money cost.

Also having to wear the ring is a major detractor.
By now I'd have hoped it was account linked to all characters and that it increased gold by 50% and exp by 50%

Anyone have an answer to this? Is it bugged? Does anyone actually use this and get the 10% XP buff?

@ZOS_GinaBruno - any info you can share? I fear this could end in divorce.

    @toz6

I agree, it doesn't even have to be experience, some new features would be cool.

Make it an eternal buff to XP whenever that characters online (spouse) or just an eternal buff to XP. Even add more things to it would be cool. But if it was meant for just roleplayers mainly I understand; they are happy.

I think it always worked and stacked.. but it only works of yu both wear the ring and are in the same zone (of even close to each other) and I think you need to be in a group aswell

You did know that the Pledge of Mara only leads to cybering if your friend is up for it, right  ?

I tried with a friend too.

the problem at launch if doing quests in a group didn't share anything. You didn't share kills either for quests so it was actually more cumbersome to group.

Then if one happened to get on a different part of a questline than you forget about it.

I hate that they made it an item, should be a memento or something, that can be triggered for a 24 hour period or whatever. The fact that it is an actual worn item takes up a slot in an already complicated item-set universe where players are constantly working out, "I have 7 armor pieces, 3 jewelry, 1 weapon, unless I go dual wield or sword n board... so, a 5 piece set, and a 5 piece set, leaves... 1? But, I want a monster set, so, I have to drop one set, then, that means... UGH!!!" So, they give us an extremely limited and small buff to XP with picky cirumstances, that does not work if combined with other effects, AND takes up a slot?

I have 2 rings... I have them because a friend grouped with me and wanted to max his XP gains. I might have worn them for a total of an hour between the 2. They are worse than useless.
