for me depends on how the animations look for the mount.

Bad ping, pretty unstable and buggy dungeon experience, people exploiting cyrodil for 2 weeks now, farming zibilions of AP. Game is a little bit more stable than private server MMOs, and yet they push crown deluxe super bla bla crates and create hype. If I have to face 999+ ping spikes what is the point of having jester costumes? If they fix the game first then maybe I can spend more money on it.

Earthtear Cavern (which will be released this month) and Topical Island (been announced, no release date yet) were shown from the very beginning and have always been crown store exclusives.

Both of them were available on PTS.

I couldn't buy the upcoming DLC with barely used crowns I had piling up from crown sales, so I threw 11,450 at crates. Didn't get a lightning sench or storm wolf. So sexy looking. Even though it's "not my fault" and I got a bunch of various other things, I feel very disappointed. Instead I refunded enough to get the Frost Mare for the eventual Warden.

Just curious what's going to be in the next batch though.

As far as I know, these houses have always been Crown Exclusive.

Perhaps what you saw was that they said they would not be in Crown Crates.

I think the furnished cost was leaked to be 16k for cavern. But don't quote me on that, not sure if I remembered correctly.

No they didn't. There are 2 islands we know for sure are crown exclusive.

Excited for something that lets you throw your money away without getting to pick what you get for your cash? Not a chance.

Now if there's something specific in the crates that you want, and you work out how many crates worth of consumables you'd have to cash in to have the gems to buy that item outright, and if the cost of that number of crates is worth it to you as the price of the specific thing you want... Then sure, go ahead and buy those crates. Be aware that you're paying an inflated price for whatever it is that you're after (unless you happen to get very very lucky with your RNG), but if you're OK with that inflated price then I don't see a problem with it (I know that depending on the item I'm sometimes OK with inflated prices and sometimes not OK with them - if you know what you're getting into I wouldn't judge).

I wouldn't throw away my money on them though. The introduction of crown crates has made me scale way back on my ESO spending. I'm glad they made enough changes to them between the PTS version and the Live version that I feel like I can live with them being in the game (the most important one being the ability to cash in the consumables for gems so you can calculate how many crates you need in order to have the gems to buy something you want), but there really should be more changes to make them more ethical through greater transparency.

If tomorrow was the day they were making it more obvious what your odds were, letting you cash in any unwanted items (not just consumables) for gems, and making it more clear how many crates you needed to buy in order to have enough gems to buy different things outright... Then I'd be super excited. I still wouldn't waste any of my money on them, but I'd be super excited about ZOS doing the ethical thing.
