✭Yep, really low drop rate + RNG is rarely a good combination. I went through 11 maps yesterday and got one painting, which seems to be on the lucky end of the scale.
So assuming you're on PC, they're there, just rare. If you're on console... then no, that hasn't been patched yet, which is something they've stated outright.Living vicariously through my characters.

Treasure chests found by following treasure maps now have a small chance to contain painting furnishings.
Note: This does not apply to Collector’s Edition treasure maps, which continue to grant their previous rewards.
The important word is 'small'. I'm not sure why players are expecting to find paintings.
They're a bonus if you do, not the reason to do.If you can be anything, be kind.1 -
