So they closed low-pop servers and now...

....the people from the low -pop servers have come to the existing servers creaing queues of 80+ (I'm actually stuck at 70 something as I write this....) and creating a massive lag bomb. Would it not have been better to keep all the servers as they are and THEN conduct your no-CP experiment (which itself speaks volumes - forcing players to completely alter their builds for the upcoming experiment and beyond).

And before anyone jumps on me about this - I play full time on Azura's Star - i choose NOT to use my CP points (640+). But I'm gutted for those PvPers who play on CP campaigns.

I'm part of a guild whose only foicus in ESO is PVP. So now that the devs have created this wonderful lagbomb by shutting down servers PvP guilds are suffering when they get booted out from the server and can't rejoin for 40 minutes.

If people are working on this game and don't know what is wrong or causing the performance issues after 3 YEARS - it's time to upgrade the staff. You're happy to take mine and everyone else's money - it's about time you gave us a stable game.

Sorry for the rant. But super-riled at these massive queues....

if anything they need to lower max pop on current pvp servers and reopen closed ones.
reason so many one sided ones happen is due to lack of forced pile ins.

forcing everyone into current sized ones is bad mojo, they struggle as is but lowering them alittle and having more open gives options and higher chances of filling them.
PLEASE REPLY TO ME WITH @dsalter otherwise i'm likely to miss the reply if its not my own thread

PC NA for example, most people want to play with CP but the pvp population is so low now that everyone stuffs into TF and then the overflow hits Had. If they were to open up anymore on PC NA you'd just have wasted server instances.

The other platforms both EU and NA will need adjusting every 6 months or so.

    @Baranthus

How does testing campaigns for the effect of CP, hence testing without CP which would require some to change their builds for regen and such, speak volumes>

Unless by speaking volumes you actually mean Zos is attempting to see the difference calculations for CP actually make on the server in order to find a solution that can make a difference.

My point is - why are they only doing such testing now? Why weren't such tests undertaken BEFORE the launch of the CP system?

Servers cost time and money, so of course it's logical for them to close the ones that always show low populations. That said, this is just going to increase the Zergs in the populous Campaigns. You all have fun with that.

    This.^

CP are the root of so many balance issues in ESO (along with main stats affecting damage). This was noted by several players before CP were added and ZOS has pretty much ignored it, like so many other things.

Personally I think if CP are here to stay the values need to be reduced to the 8-15% range at max. This would also make diminishing returns at higher CP values actually diminish.

Testing live produces actual real time results that they can look at and use to get an idea of what's going on with real stress being applied to there servers.

During primetime, PC EU servers (excluding TF) have a healthy population and weekends are mostly poplocked on all except for BWB. Sure TF is the go-to server, but other servers are healthy as well and barely ever dead.
If you're wondering what does that have to do with anything...
Healthy servers means less bottlenecks for TF as people are less likely to change them due to no action etc. TF has always been full on PC EU, regardless how many servers there are or have been, but now, in comparison to older days - other servers actually have players in them as well.
Would help if you stated which platform/region you play on too.

P.S. Azura's Star (noCP) is the 2nd most populated server after TF which is not far off in terms of player count at any given time. Not sure why people would think noCP server is some kind of an issue - proof is here - people play there and they love it.

I think it has been mentioned before a lot of bugs, lags etc are not found in house testing but only on live servers. Cyrodiil has not had the attention it needs for a long time and now the devs are finally looking into it so I welcome whatever changes are needed after testing phase has been completed.

You had me scratching my head at the title thinking wait... it's a megaserver. What's he talking about?

But then after I read a bit I realized you were talking about PvP.

Well, at least you will get the smaller PvP battlegrounds with Morrowind so hopefully that will alleviate some of the over-population problems in Cyrodiil.

Its called red tape. They requested to do this on Live. Which apparently takes special permission to do and it took a while to hear back.
