If so, how'd you like it? I've been working on a build just for this and I think it's pretty fun.
I still slot another taunt at the moment because I'm not quit used to the timing of charging a full heavy attack.
I'm using Shalk's Exoskeleton and Necropotence. It's totally not the best for buffs but it's cute.

✭✭✭✭✭Most of the people I see say the following:
It's absolutely great in PVP because you can cheese it with stuff like desert rose and never run out of mag.
It's worthless in PVE exept as an offhand, as S&S simply has better buffs and debuffs. Frost staff does not have access to major fracture, or major heroism.
For the record I find this to be about the long and short of it, frost staff is worthless currently because it does not offer set bonuses or buffs, but it's great in PVP because of how bad you can cheese it with desert rose.Edited by Doctordarkspawn on February 22, 2017 3:44PM0 -

✭✭✭It seems to just be something done in anticipation of the Warden's tanking. If the Warden can be an effective magicka-based tank, it might make sense then.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭I don't like it. I was going to respec my Cryomancer so I could drop the passive, but now that we know Warden is coming she is going to be rerolled anyway so I just shelved her for now. Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.

Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.

I havent tried it myself but I did kick a few people from groups earlier running the setup. Idk if they were actual tanks, inexperienced or what but after noticing that they never had aggro and just stood around looking confused I decided not to carry.
I guess the prob with ice staff is you loose alot of the buffs you could be getting from 2h or s&b.0 -
SirCritical✭✭✭✭✭Give the staff-taunt to one of the destro staff line skills (or passive when the skill is used with a frost staff) and especially to ele ring when it is used with a frost staff, should let you AoE taunting.
Btw as a magDK I have problems with magicka sustain when using frost staff for blocking. Maybe l2p, but now I'm struggling with it.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭My plan, which I haven't actually taken the time to set up yet, is to start doing S&B/frost staff tanking with my magicka tanks. I think this will be far more effective than pure frost staff tanking, as it lets you dynamically switch between which resource pool you want to use for blocking.
