Vma stam sorc advice

Hey all

This weekend I finally got a sharpened vma dagger and axe. I have been running 2 velidreth, 5 VO, 5 hundings on dual wield bar and maelstrom bow on back

Question - in VMA, are maeltrom dual wield weapons viable? Specifically, I was thinking of maybe dropping velidreth, keeping 5 VO and either keeping 5 hundings or crafting 5 night mothers. Would this set up be better than keeping velidreth?

Ironically, the answer is no. I think on some of the boss fights you might do a hair better with them, but most of the stuff dies too fast to benefit from the buff.

Drop 2 pieces of VO, keep 5 Hunding's or Night Mother's Gaze as all armor, keep Velidreth. Use your new BiS Maelstrom weapons. 5 VO is great right up until you get those weapons. From then on, 3 VO is better.

Actually, vMA mobs die quickly, so the damage difference in using Maelstrom weapons and using VO weapons is pretty negligible.Also, the speed boost and the stamina cost reduction on the VO 5pc bonus is really good.

If you can handle the loss of that stamina cost reduction and having to cast hurricane every 15 seconds, sure, go ahead and swap out your VO weps with Maelstrom; otherwise, I would suggest that you stick with VO.

If you are running VO armor instead, well, don't swap anything out. The 5pc bonus on both NMG and HR are still nice.

Hunding's Rage isn't a bad set, but I'd still recommend NMG due to the extra penetration. The damage difference really isn't that big, though, so stick with Hunding's Rage if you can't afford a new set of armor.

Monster sets are still good to have for the utility they offer. Keep 1pc Kra'gh's, at least, or run 2pc Engine Guardian if you need resources.

Oh, yeah, if you are talking about using vMA weapons in vMA, then yes, keeping your current setup is actually better.

I ran 2 vma daggers, 5 tbs and 5 vo yesterday and got 553k.

So I get the same kind of results from this and 5 NMG 5 VO and 2 VELI LOL.... not sure how that works.

Stick with VO
Maelstrom are for trails (if you can get in) or maybe some 4 man dungeons.
