Mag sorcs or Magplars for dps in Trials?

I know that Mag sorcs have higher dps than Magplars (at least in Homestead), and that their ability to remain relatively far from bosses while still maintaining high dps make them valuable.
However, I feel like Magplars offer way more utility to the group while also maintaining their high dps. Their faster rezes, heal and purify from ritual, stam return from shards (which do benefit magicka users), and even the few that slot BoL for safety contribute greatly to the group. I feel like these things can make Magplars more, if not then equally, desirable than the 2k-4k more dps that Mag sorcs have.
Am I wrong? Why or why not? I ask this because I have both characters but only 1 set of moondancer/bsw. I have similar degrees of likeability for both classes, but I want to know which one will be more desirable when people ask for dps for vet trials.

pretzl✭✭✭✭In the end, magsorcs are pushing alot higher single-target damage than magplars. More than 2k-4k, unfortunately. It's definitely good to have a magplar DD in a raid, but no more than 1 currently (for the passives it grants).
MagSorc will definitely be more desireable in a raid with this in mind, but a good magplar will still outparse a *** magsorc, so I guess you need to think about which one you really like more or know how to play better.
If you're considering which to practice more with, you'll be more desireable this patch as magsorc. Then again, that may change completely next patch.CP | Chronically Capped
